This place had it all. As soon as we pulled up we were created by the friendly staff. Dan, the owner, was soon on hand to welcome us, and to upgrade us to a king size room!

The hotel is on the edge of town, but as a taxi ride downtown only costs $3 a trip it really doesn't matter.

The hotel it's self is lovely. All rooms open on to a center courtyard, with a lovely pool in which you can take a refreshing dip. The room we had was large and airy. We had a king bed, and the en-suite bathroom was just fitted. Dan purchases all of the furniture and bedding in the U.S. so everything is of the highest quality.

Although the hotel is close to the airport there was little noise while we were there.

Dan and his friend Tracy who looked after the place in Dan's absence, couldn't do enough for you, from organising taxi's to recommending restaurants - Dan even organised a trip snorkeling for us whilst we were there.

If you want to stay in a lovely hotel, with all the comforts of home, with great service then this is THE place to stay on Cozumel.

“The perfect place to discover Cozumel”

We just stayed 7 days at Casita de Maya. It was amazing!
This little hotel is a gem. It features four nicely designed, clean and very spacious rooms with every comfort you can imagine (fridge, micro wave, fan, AC, satellite TV, DVD, Video...) and a nice pool outside. We were upgraded to the newest room with a king size bed. We loved the location as there are lots of little, local shops around the corner where you can buy mexican specialities, fresh fruits or stock up your fridge with cerveza.
The owner, Dan, offers incredible hospitality and is very helpful. He knows the island and the locals inside out and always pointed us to the best spots to get great authentic food. He helped us with renting a car (the best way to explore the island) and even organized a diving trip. He really made us feel like "at home away from home".
If you wish to discover the real Cozumel while spending quality time in a relaxed atmosphere, this is the place to stay. We loved it and would come back any time. Thanks again for everything Dan!!

Upon arrival Tracey greeted us with an ice cold Tecate beer. Not bad for a start! Dan, the owner of the hotel, was in California and was slated to return the following evening. After we finished our beverages, Tracey proceeded to take us to our room. The room was spacious and extremely tastefully decorated. In addition, all appliances were new and worked perfectly. I consider the excellent water pressure in the shower to be a value added bonus. I believe the rooms reflect Dan’s traveling experiences. He took all of the good aspects of the many hotels he has stayed in, and married their features to his aesthetic vision.

The following morning, we awoke to experience a crystal clear pool directly outside our door. The pool seemed to beg for occupants and my wife accommodated. My wife and I are both animal lovers so it was an extra treat to be greeted by the resident dog and cat on the second day of our stay. On occasion, the cat would sleep on its back, which is certainly worth a camera shot. Dan returned that evening with obvious jet lag, but he was a gracious host in regards to informing us of things to do on the island as well as things not to do. This proved to be invaluable information.

Both Tracey and Dan are bilingual which speeds up the process as far as making arrangements for tours, etc. By the way, Tracey operates a parasailing business and the fees are less expensive than in the U.S. My wife could not resist, and claimed that she had an incredible experience. My experience, however, was only a vicarious one.

If you are looking for relaxing and casual accommodations without the pressure of time share B.S. or being told what to eat and when to eat (all inclusive) this is the place for you to be in Cozumel. Everything is a short cab ride away, which ranges from 3 to 5 dollars.

Dan has built his dream, come experience it, you won’t regret it. My many thanks to Dan, Tracey, and Adolfo.

“Excellent Hospitality”

We had a great time on Cozumel, in large part due to the hospitality of Adolfo, Tracy, and Sergio (Dan was away). They helped us book a snorkeling trip and suggested several good restaurants and a relaxing beach. The room had everything we wanted, including strong A/C and a fridge, and was tastefully decorated.

Be aware that the hotel is a couple of miles from most restaurants and the beaches, so you'll probably end up taking taxis a lot if you don't rent a car. The taxis are only $2-3 for most trips, though.

How many great reviews do you have to read before you just book it? Perhaps this one will help you decide. This charming 3 room hotel is spotless clean with all you need (satelite tv, fridge, walk in shower, cold ac, internet connection) The room itself has a very upscale feel mixed with a Mexican flair. We enjoyed the pool and big screen TV in the courtyard. Great place to relax and drink a beer!! Most of all though, the owner Dan is just the best host, trip advisor, island info guy anyone could hope for! Dan assisted us in a car rental, gave us great local places to eat at and just plain old made us feel at home! All we can say is go and check it out you will not be disappointed. Can't wait to go back!!
