We stayed at Casa Sacnicte for 4 nights at Christmas time. This is a beautiful B&B with eight rooms so it is a very cozy size.

Casa Sacnicte is close to the center of Merida. This can be a busy and noisy area, but stepping inside this B&B was like finding an oasis. Suddenly it was quiet and peaceful. Everything has soft, warm colors.

Ruy, Lupita and Wilbert, who own/run Casa Sacnicte, are the nicest people. They made sure we found the interesting things to see, best places to eat and that we were always comfortable. They spoiled us with a great breakfast each day. On Christmas day, Ruy made sure we had food on Christmas. Lupita had made a special souffle that Ruy brought in from home.

This B&B puts you in a good central location, just a few blocks from the central plaza, the bus stations and the big market. Do not miss the market. I have never seen anything like it.

There is a nice park 1/2 block away when you want to sit and relax.

You can set up a whole range of day tours at the hotel. Prices are really about the same as doing it on your own. We went to Uxmal on an afternoon tour that included dinner and the night light show. Wow! Another day we did a self-tour by bus to Celestun to see the Flamingos. Ended up costing the same as the tour that would have picked us up and dropped us off at the B&B.

If you are going to Merida, Casa Sacnicte is a great lodging choice.

This B and B is a gem and its owners are absolutely wonderful. They went far beyond their duty as hosts. We arrived in Merida late (10:30 pm) and Wilbur was there to welcome us and parked our car in a private lot.
We traveled with our 2 teenagers and a grandmother, all in all we had 3 rooms. This gave us a good idea of what the rooms are like and they are all pleasant, air conditioned and have renovated bathrooms.
The breakfast made everyone start the day full and happy.
Location is very convenient to the square and, plenty of bakeries around...

We had a terrible problem with our rental car and Hertz, Ruy made the calls for us and drove us to the Hertz garage to get the car fixed. When the car could not get fixed and Hertz was unresponsive, his wife, Lupita, took over and made the necessary calls to Hertz, and solved our problem. Both Lupita and Ruy turned what could have been a nightmarish scenario into a regular tourist day for us. Their sweetness was unbelievable.

Oh, did I mention that they both speak impeccable English!

This is a not only a great value, it is THE place to stay! We wish Casa Sac Nicte the best!

I had a really nice stay at Sac Nicte. The owners are really nice people, as i found many of the Mexicans to be. My room was simple but spacious and cool. The bed was the most comfortable one i had had so far in Mexico. The courtyard was a nice place to eat breakfast or read in the evening with a small aviary in one corner and banana trees etc hiding some of its urban location.

I found it to be good value, the breakfast is worth going for too as it was tasty and quite plentiful. Location wise, perfect as not far from the main square or the bus station and in my room was not noisy at all at night.

I would definitely reccommend to a friend.

This is a wonderful small B&B right in the center of Merida. It is in a regular mexican neighborhood, and is a really great place to stay to see a slice of life in Merida. The central square is only a ten minute walk from the house and where a lot of the things a traveller is interested in. Also the bus station is only 4 blocks and an easy walk from the house.
There are different sizes of rooms to suit every different wish. The rooms are very clean, with good linens and the basic needs of the traveller. The breakfast was outstanding, with a big bowl of fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, sweet breads and toast.
The owners speak very good english and are very helpful in advising the traveller of the things to see and do and the best way to get there. Their computer is in the lobby and is available for the traveller to use. Ruy, Lupita and Wilbur really made our stay in Merida pleasant.

It would surprise me if Merida had a better place to stay... than in Sacnicte.

The beautiful, colorful rooms are all called after a flower, if my Mayan is still OK -- check their site to preview...
Location is fine, the b&b is pretty close to the major plaza.
Staff are so helpful, rates are reasonable.
Our spatious room 6, called Lol-Be, has an excellent airco; the bathroom is clean and comfortable and has a large shower.

A rich breakfast is served in the small, green, quiet and relaxing garden. I wish I could have breakfast this way every morning!

The hotel also offers trips to e.g. Uxmal, as an agent for Mayan Heritage.

One of our top stays in Yucatan, I would definitely go back there...
