My wife and I took five desperately needed days away in early March, 2012. We stayed at an adult-only all-inclusive resort in Riviera Maya. Needing more to help us relax, we looked for a therapeutic massage center in nearby Playa del Carmen. Veronica's stood out. Our concierge couldn't reach them by phone to make a reservation, so we decided to just "wing it".
As we walked down La Quinta, we saw a number of massage advertisements. At street level, Veronica's was no different: a stand, a door leading to a stairway, two or three women standing there. A little nervous, we decided to trust the TripAdvisor reviews that we had previously read about attractions in Playa del Carmen.
Upstairs, the two women led us into a room with two well-appointed massage tables. The room was quiet, clean, and fragrant. The massages were as good as any we have had at home, or on cruise ships. One full hour later (it seemed much too short), we were feeling much less stress. We were NOT feeling all gooey and greasy! All that for the grand total of $66 (plus tips).
We are looking forward to another getaway in Riviera Maya. We'll have to book two sessions next time.
