My boyfriend and I were living in Playa at the time and went here for drinks on my birthday. We had a few drinks at another bar before so we were feeling good, but not as drunk as the waitress thought. After we paid our bill and were finishing our drinks, she came back 10 minutes later and asked us to pay our bill. I told her we just paid her a few minutes ago. She began arguing with me insisting that I hadn't paid my bill. I thought to myself, "Is this girl on drugs?!" I asked her to get the manager which she did after I saw them conversing at the bar for at least 5 minutes before he came over. He came over and tore up our second check and asked us to leave as if we were causing a problem. Then it hit me...they were both in on the scam and this was probably not the first time they tried to take advantage of tourists. It is not uncommon for Playa bars to pad your bill if they think you have had a few drinks and won't notice, but I have never experienced such a bold act of attempted theft as I did at OM. Just tells me that they do it often and probably get away with it.
