I went with my bf and two friends (late 20's and early 30's) and we had a 2/2 in building three...it was perfect, close to the pool and the reception desk. The ground were immaculate, we saw a pool guy whose job was to sweep water puddles away so that you werent stepping in water by the pools. =). Defintely rent out a palapa, its completely worth it. Also, make sure that you check you bill upon check out, they tried to charge us for the palapa (even though we ordered over 30 worth of food) but they removed it. They also had an additional charge on the bill that we did not make (keep all your reciepts) but removed that when they could not find the carbon copy reciept. Another thing...when signing off on your bill by the pool, make sure that you check everything, our waiter tried to charge us for an extra drink and then argued with us when we said we didnt order it.- this is probably harder for larger groups that drink alot but just try to be cognizant.
other than that the experience was wonderful. We had a car rental so we drove to playa del carmen a couple of times (got massages, and ate yummy tacos) and then drove into Cancun a couple of times (also very fun). The room service was great, definitely better than any of the food we ate at the restuarants. The gaucamole and fruit platters are YUMMY!!!
