Can't believe that there is such a cool and individual hotel on that coast.
We so loved our stay and felt that we were part of the family.
Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and would stay there again.
How about that bar??Think the margaritas on the rocks were the best I have ever had so of course like a little pig I had lots!!
The music was so good and fitted the style of the place.
Unfortunatley as we were checking out some very loud americans were complaining about something trivial.
Go stay at a holiday inn . You just don't get it.

You will need to ask the staff what it is called. It was the best!!

This was our second time staying at Hotel Basico and we were greeted as old friends. The staff's attention to detail and the impeccable standards of the hotel make this a destination we plan on returning to again and again. I can't say enough about this hotel, its location and amenities. It is the best home away from home in Playa, and we have stayed at nearly a dozen other hotels in the area. Their sister property, Deseo, is also worthwhile and nearby. Enjoy your trip...

My husband and I booked a trip to Playa for our first wedding anniversary and I'm so glad we stayed at Basico. The hotel staff was so friendly and attentive. Someone was constantly cleaning the hotel. Everything always looked nice. We were a little worried about the noise having read other reviews before we went down. We stayed in Gabriella and only had trouble with the noise our first night. We loved our room and felt like we had a lot of privacy. After the first night we didn't even notice the music from the rooftop bar. The rooftop pools and beds are amazing. We could have stayed there forever. The restaurant is great. We probably had our best breakfast at the hotel. The room was fantastic and the beds are so comfortable. All in all, we loved Playa and adored Hotel Basico. Would recommend to anyone and definitely stay there again in the future.

Lets start with the good stuff. Nice staff, excellent design, nice room, nice bar, excellent location, great comfortable bed and good around the clock DJs.

Bad Stuff: Methane gases from the sewer were overpowering in our room. Since the 12 foot window in my room was broken and would not open, my room smelled liked [----]:)

If the can get adequate venting or p-traps i would stay here again. If not, their sister hotel Deseo looked very nice.
