This is a hotel used as part of one of Gecko´s Central American tours. We arrived a few days ealier and had organised an additional four nights at the hotel, prior to the tour starting. We arrived and the lady at reception spoke no English, but through sign language, we were able to convey to her we were checking in. Well, when we saw our room, we both nearly cried. It was baking, so we turned on the a/c and the ceiling fan. Big mistake, as the fan started up, it lurched from the ceiling and started whacking against the ceiling. We could see it was about to come spinning off and threaten to decapitate us, so I had to dive underneath this precariously lurching fan, to turn it off. Sigh. Not a good start. Then came the bathroom. Having used the toilet, we couldn´t flush it. And no, we didn´t put toilet paper in it. We attempted to flush for half an hour, then realising we couldn´t get any assistance (nobody spoke English), we decided to cut our losses and find another hotel. Upon walking around the corner, we found a delightful hotel which cost only US$6 more than the hovel known as Hotel La Paz.
Save your money and don´t save here. If it´s a choice between Hotel La Paz, or the beach? Take the latter.
