“Wonderful Stay at La Luna”

Cabanas La Luna

We had a wonderful visit to Tulum and Cabanas La Luna in May. We stayed in the Marrakech unit which was superb, it was on the 2nd floor and had 2 beds and two balconies, one smaller side balcony and a beautiful large balcony with a glorious view, a table and chairs, a little sofa and a hammock. Divine.

The 24 hour electricity was nice and we were able to charge ipod, camera battery, etc. in the room which is a plus.

Sleeping with the sounds of the ocean and the breeze blowing over you is heavenly.

It was a nice location in the middle of things.....I liked the walk to and from places. Nice beach area. The beach beds were comfy. Some more shade umbrellas might be nice.

Overall I would stay here again. Marrakech is the most private and it is a large unit followed by Captain Dale's which is very large and closest to the ocean and also private. The others although not as private and smaller look charming as well.

They do have a kitchen and you can have meals if desired but we didn't use this service so I can't comment on it.

There is a cooler provided for your use. I would recommend going to the Pueblo and getting ice daily as it melts immediately.

There is also a large jug of water available in your room and they fill it as needed.

La Luna is a charming, quiet escape from the world.

Enjoy!

My fiance and I just returned from Cabanas La Luna and had a wonderful time! We stayed in the house toward the back of the property,so we were not on the beach, but we had our own kitchen area and there was a beautiful garden area right outside our door. The beach is absolutely beautiful, very few people, wonderfully warm water and great restaurants nearby. If you like ruins, we recommend going to Coba -- about an hour from Tulum and just terrific! The place is rustic, but quiet, secluded, and beautiful. We will definitely go back.

“La Luna Bride”

Cabanas La Luna

Well, there really is no way to describe what an incredible experience we had at La Luna. We were there for 10 days and held our wedding on the grounds at La Luna. It is the most incredible place in Tulum...it is impossible not to relax and enjoy yourself while staying at this little eco-resort.
First, the accomodations are lovely. We had guests staying in all of the rooms, including the house (Zanzibar) at the back of the property. The porches made for the perfect place for guests staying at other locations to hang out when visiting us at La Luna. The hammocks were utilized by everyone and are hanging in spots that allow for privacy. The kitchen has a grill pit and is fully equipped (with coolers for your perishables) which makes La Luna perfect for those evenings you are two tired to head into town. There are dishes for probably 40 people and they are authentic Mexican pottery. We used them for our reception and they were beautiful! The stone tables and benches in the kitchen area will seat around 8 people comfortably and then there is a large table (built around the well, which is a genius use of space) which can seat 10-12 people.
Second, we had our wedding at La Luna and it was absolutely perfect. Gonzalo, Rene, and the staff that live at La Luna helped us with every tiny detail. Rene went so far as to build a bar area to serve drinks (including hanging a chandalier in a tree!)...it was incredible. The amount of care that was put into our wedding day by the people of La Luna truly made it unique. Rodrigo and his family made food for 35 people for the reception and it was delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine. I have never heard so many people gushing about guacamole and ceviche.
I could go on and on about this place and the people that Victor and Hanne Jesca have found to manage their little gem, because it is just so unique.
We will always return to La Luna to remember our wedding and the special time we had there...and to create new memories at such a rare place!
Thanks to Rene, Hanne Jesca, Rodrigo and Family, and Gonzalo...you made a lasting impact on our lives and we will forever thank you for all of your attention and help!

My wife ad I loved our accommodations. From our bed we had a great view of morning's first light as the sun rose over the sea. The play of light and color in sky and water provided a different but spectacular show each day. As Anne ran to observe from the hammock on the nearby pristine white sand beach I fluffed up my pillow to watch from the comfort of bed.
Our cabana, Robinson Caruso, was simple but elegant. The rooms were well kept by an excellent and friendly staff. All staff persons and management were all one could hope for.
The entire complex of cabanas formed a graceful architectural interaction.

The grounds are beautiful with great attention given to detail in the design of new gardens. The open air kitchen was terrific and well equipped.

La Luna provided a spectacular, beautiful and moving setting for a perfect wedding uniting two people of even greater beauty.

I was at La Luna in order to attend a wedding. I stayed at another more "modernized" hotel down the beach, but wished I'd stayed at Los Lunas. I examined the rooms and facilities and can say that, while rustic, they were clean, comfortable and quite unique in their layout.. There was a constant stream of air from off shore that made it quite pleasant to simply lie in a hammock and listen to the waves. Rene was quite helpful and put on a really nice reception on the wedding night. Also would recommend the next door restaurant at Ana y Jose's for great lunches.
