Motel Marble Rocks is overlooking the Narmada river at Bhedaghat. This hotel is about 22 kms from Jabalpur railway station. An auto from Jabalpur should cost you around Rs 200.
The hotel is a 3 star property with a swimming pool. From the hotel who can see part of the river (however the view is not spectacular). To get a true feel of Marble Rocks you need to go boating in the river.
The rooms were clean and the food was decent (as in other MP tourism hotels....the menu and rates have been standardised across all MP Tourism hotels)..Lunch/dinner should cost around Rs 100-150 per person..The hotel manager was also helpful. The water heater in my room was not working which was fixed in a couple of hours. The hotel manager also offered to change our rooms incase we wanted.
The main negative with all MP Tourism hotels is that the taxi/car rates are generally not very competitive compared to the market. But at Bhedaghat you have limited options and end up relying on the hotel. Please note that the roads in MP are not the best. So avoid Omni and other such vehicles.
The room rates are around Rs 2000 per night + tax. There is a peak season charge as well in December and some other months.
In Bhedhaghat the main attractions are boating, visit to Dhuandhar waterfall, Chausat Yogini temple and cable car. You can also look for some handicrafts in the local market.
An alternative to Bhedhaghat is staying in Bargi which has a dam and reservoir. The view of the reservoir from the MP Tourism hotel there is pretty good, especially in the morning and evening. You can also do boating here. Bargi is 30kms from Jabalpur and 40kms from Bhedaghat.
