I am not impressed at all with CasaLuna. The breakfast is nothing special. Not worth getting up and walking downstairs.
We had a couple of friends join us on our balcony, along with another guest of CasaLuna and we all drank Margaritas. At 9:30 PM we were told we needed to be quiet. We were not screaming or yelling. Only talking and laughing. The only time we saw any management was when we checked in and when we checked out. The man who worked there in the evenings was not friendly. We would go for days without seeing anyone at all. No one spoke to us or greeted us each day. I would never go back.

My husband and I just returned from our third visit to Casa Luna. If it is at all possible, the place just keeps getting better and better and better. Actually it is the best!

This time we stayed at the Casa Luna Quebrada and so much enjoyed the friendly manager, Lalo, and the cutest little pooch, Lolita. Though no dog can hold a candle to the fabulous Fabio who lives at the Casa Luna Pila Seca.

Each room is decorated with great style and comfort. The breakfast is wonderful fun meeting the other guests and the fabulous, Tia, aunt of the owner, who gives the best shopping and restaurant tips.

We already made our reservation for next year. And can hardly wait to come back.

When I walked in the front door of Casa Luna it was love at first sight.

The place is a lovely oasis filled with plants, private nooks and crannies, a fabulous staff, wonderful breakfasts.

What can I say? We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to return.

“A Gem”

We would highly recommend the Casa Luna Pila Seca. The location was excellent - only 4 blocks from the Jardin. We stayed in the Mountain View Room, which we loved. It was large and bright with a fabulous terrace, offering both shade and sun, and a great view over the mountains (and the street). At night we could hear the soothing sounds of one of the many fountains from the lower floor. Breakfasts were delicious and varied, with lots of food. The honour bar on the roof terrace was welcome at the end of a day of sightseeing, and a lovely place to view the sunsets. Day trips to Guanajuato and Queretaro were quickly and efficiently organized by Diane or Suzanne. Their staff were very friendly and helpful.

My husband and I had the wonderful good fortune to stay for 8 night at Casa Luna in February, 2007. We were enchanted by the property - yes, a B&B - but more like a small, colonial Mexican hotel - charming and beautiful beyond words. We stayed in the red room at the Pila Sica location and just loved it. We had a very large room with a roof balcony from which we could see over the city in the morning and evening light. Breakfasts were delicious and Mexican enough for us to feel like we were, indeed, in Mexico. The people we met around the breakfast tables were all extremely interesting, friendly and fun to be with.
The owners were most helpful with any arrangements we wanted to make. We happen to be interested in ceramics so they helped arrange a full day tour to various potters in San Miguel, Guanajuato and Dolores Hidalgo.
The location of Casa Luna is really perfect! A short walk to everything. And if you get tired taxis cost only $2 anywhere in town.
We are big travelers and have never stayed anywhere more wonderful than Casa Luna. It's a jewel!
