Went riding on a whim back around new years of 2008. Had a blast. There was only the two of us and the guide. Trip took us all around perimeter of the city, all afternoon.

Our guide, can't remember his name to save my life, was outstanding. The man truly cared about his horses, and it showed both in the horses and the way they responded to novice riders. Guide also knew a ton about local history, architecture, etc..

Plus, my fiance thought he was really hot, she and her sisters almost booked a ride the second day.

Rode today to see the orginal San Miguel de Allende church built upon a Chichimeca ruin, then down to the lake. Mauricio was great, perfect English, great stories. Call him at [--]

Going for a ride with Mauricio and his boys was one of the highlights of our holiday. They are a lovely, entertaining bunch, and as they speak really good English it is a great way to have a good natter and learn about the local community. They took all the horses out, even the "babies" and two horses that had never been saddled before and went a bit crazy! It wasn't only a tourist expedition but part of the horses daily outings, tourists or not. The scenary was beautiful, the experience fun and relaxing, and even if i seriously struggled to walk for the next couple of days, this is one of the best memories of my holiday. It is worth knowing that Maurizio is passionate about rescuing dogs and the occasional horse, so i seriously felt like, by giving him business, i had done a good deed which doesn't hurt! I absolutely recommend.

We try to find horseback riding wherever we go and 3 Senores was best ever---we returned the next day to do it again. Had a 9 year old girl and 12 year old boy with us and they LOVED it. My favorite part was the extra horses in training and their colts riding along.

I've been wanting to go horseback riding for 20+ years and I finally got to. My wife was a bit afraid, but she knew I really wanted to do this, so she agreed. We booked a 3 1/2 hour ride through our B&B and Mauricio picked us up for a morning ride - I'd recommend that you book for morning or evening due to the temparature at mid-day being difficult for the horses, but Mauricio will be your best guide. He is devoted to his animals and to the land. He'll make sure you have a good safe ride, and he'll pepper the conversation with details about the area, it's history and show you a bit of the reality of it's people away from Centro. When I demonstrated that I could handle it, we broke into a run (I don't know if it was a gallop or a trot or whatnot, but it seemed to be a panic inducing speed, but a thrill I could handle). My wife didn't push her horse too hard, but Mauricio always circled back with me to make sure she had fun, too. I wanted only to *finally* ride a horse, but I left wanting to cash-in my chips up north and live the ranch life in San Miguel viejo.
