We have been to Cabo San Lucas numerous times over the years but this was our first trip to Dreams. We had stayed at Dreams Tulum last year and found this resort to be a much more positive experience overall.
First and foremost was the food, which can make or break your entire trip. No stomach uspets of any kind, we enjoyed meals at each of the restaurants except for Oceana as they had an age restriction for those under twelve so we did not eat there. Wonderful omelette or freshly made waffle each morning in El Patio, many thanks to the lovely woman who was our breakfast chef, and her smile each morning! Then Cappucino to go, so we could sit on the beach and watch the morning unfold. Lunch we would bring back to the beach from the Seaside Grill buffet and relax under the palapa while we ate. Can't wait to go back for more guacamole and chips!!! Himitsu and Portofino for dinner on several occassions, great each time, with thanks to Jorge our waiter for the fine service and help with our Spanish! Fond memories of the best Mango Daquiri on the beach and thanks to Raul and Daniel our servers by the pool and on the beach.
Speaking of the beach, it was not crowded, great to go exploring or for a walk to the Hilton beach to swim in the ocean. Definitely no going into the surf at the resort, but we snorkeled at Chileno beach and the walk to the Hilton was maybe 15 minutes.
The main pool was heated which was important as it was cool somedays with the ocean breeze. Although the pool was sparkling clean when we arrived it could have used a treatment before we left, as the water started to seem a bit murky. That would have to be my only concern with the resort.
We did not use the Explorers Club this trip, so can't comment on this locations service. It would be hard to beat the care provided at Dreams Tulum from last year which was exceptional.
Our room was a Jr Suite oceanview with microwave, kitchen sink and of course the always stocked minifridge. Housekeeping was always attentive, daytime and evening turndown service each day. The water pressure was terrific and always lots of hot water for the shower. I believe there are newer rooms but ours was quite perfect from the older section, sure there are signs of wear but nothing that would take away from your stay there. As always, cooler in the evenings so be prepared to bundle up after the sun goes down with a sweater, fleece, or hoodie. One evening mid week it was positively chilly and I was wishing for a warmer jacket!
The concierge and bell boy services were always helpful and we had excellent transfers to and from the resort with TransCabo that the concierge was helpful in arranging for us in advance via email. One day trip in to Cabo San Lucas was enough for us, the resort does have a shuttle but we opted for a taxi for convenience sake ($25 USD each way plus tip) with an easy drop off and pick up at Puerto Paraiso. A great lunch and a wonderful host at Los Deseos along the Marina for a much needed break from sightseeing.
Definitely a double thumbs up for Dreams!

Got married and stayed at Dreams from 10/23-27. We brought 64 guests (10 were kids and teenagers) and we only heard one negative comment, which came from a "foodie." From my experience, you don't choose an all inclusive if you are looking for the best food....but still, this place had good food. On an all inclusive food scale, I would give it a 9, with 10 being the best. For the drinks, I would give it a 8....it would be higher but they use cheap tequila, and it would be lower but they serve Corona products. For the service, definitely a 10....the wait and entertainment staff bust their butt to get you drinks and food. No lie, they will run to the bar to get you a drink, and then will bring you 3 because they saw you were really thirsty.

The wedding services were very well coordinated. They do a lot of weddings and have it down to a science. I'm not going to take the time to write everything, but I will say this: we were nervous how it was all going to happen, but in the end, we could not have picked a better place to bring everyone together. We feel very lucky and fortune for having found and used Dreams. No regrets.

First of all, the rooms are not all ocean view. I've stayed there when it was the Melia. They've added on quit a bit. There are more rooms. There is now a backside of the hotel. That's where our ocean view room was, on the bottom floor looking at a restaurant. We could not even sit outside because everyone at the restaurant was looking at us and us at them. It was about 30 feet from our room. I upgraded for $150 more a night for a total of $510 per night. Things were good for one night, until my children and me walked into the room to find 3 employees of the hotel in our room. The door to the safe was broken. What reason did they have to be in the closet with the safe??? I called the management. Someone came and took pictures. The next day I was left a message by management that they were charging me $280 for a broken door. I spoke with the manager that would not return my phone call until I went to the desk after 3 days of waiting. The place is nice. It has average service. I would suggest putting the do not disturb sign on door and call for service when you are in room.

“Overall great experience here.”

We are from Edmonton, Alberta and we stayed at Dreams for two weeks over Christmas and New Years and we were pleasantly surprised by the service we received considering all of the negative reviews written about this property. We felt compelled to write a review since everything we have read has been so negative.

My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom suite by the smaller pool. At first we were disappointed to be on the first floor since we e-mailed the resort prior to our arrival asking for a higher floor. We were told since we had a late evening check in the rooms on the higher floors were already occupied and we could check back in the morning. When the sun rose, we discovered the room wasn't so bad after all. We had a clear view of the ocean and the pool was right in front of our room. One complaint about being on the main floor is that we had a family stay above us and they would drag the chairs in their room across the marble floor starting at 6 AM in the morning. Waking up to this the first morning there, I decided to use ear plugs for the rest of the stay since I am a light sleeper. I found out a week later in speaking with other guests that everyone wanted to move into our building since the main pool area was too noisy for most people who go to bed early.

Yes, the restaurants don't serve gourmet fair but there is always something edible available. We have travelled extensively and we are both very particular about what we eat and there was always something we found enjoyable. Most servers were pleasant to us and we tipped at each meal. We got to know a lot of the staff by name and they remebered us each time we went to a restaurant. The foccacio bread with green scallions in the Italian restaurant was baked fresh a couple of times when we went there and it was delicious. At Himitsu, the Asian restaurant, we found the eel roll and chicken teriyaki to be good, it is different from North American expectations but still good. Sometimes the cooks over salted the food which wasn't great but it wasn't a disaster either. We would just avoid those dishes. The soups at this resort on most days was very good, at El Patio, for lunch one day, they served a delicious mushroom soup. The Caesar salads from room service and in the restaurants was always fresh and good. We never got sick once in the two week stay, a first for us on holidays. We went out to Edith's in Cabo near the end of the stay, the food was fabulous. If you are missing gourmet food try the lovers special there, where they make the Caesar salad in front of you and then serve you two lobster tails with mesquite smoked vegetables, baked potato and hand made tortillas.

We found the maid service was pretty good, ocassionally she would forget soap or the floor wasn't cleaned to our expectations but it was very rare. We tipped her every day $2-$3 and she would have our room cleaned by 1:30PM each day. The night maid was also very good and we would find the music playing softly in the room each night with a bottle of water by the bed with a glass. If the mini bar was missing something we wanted, we would call the hotel operator and we would have it shortly thereafter. The mini bar manager would call us later to make sure we had what we needed.

The concierge desk was always helpful if we had any questions about Cabo or San Jose. We really liked David and Mario there since they were very friendly and helpful. Mario actually refused a tip from us when we left because he said he doesn't accept tips from friends. I made him take it anyways.

Pablo at the rendevous bar is excellent but he is leaving in a month to study in Spain. Pepe and Moises is also good. We found Pablo never let us drink in plastic glasses, he always got us glasses and if we were low on our drinks around the fire pit at night he would just refill them for us without asking. He was tipped handsomely by everyone because he was so attentive.

The day after the big New Years party on the beach, the food and beverage manager asked me how the food was and if the service was good. The food that night was very good with a large selection available.

Overall, we would definitely visit another Dream's resort in the future.

“Great Beach Vacation!”

Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa

I have to disagree with some of the negative reviews. We were there from 12/3/07 to 12/10/07 and had a great time. The room was not only decorated beautifully, but also very clean. We did have a few issues upon check in with the frig and some lights not working. Maintenance was up to our room within five minutes to repair. We never had any trouble grabbing a pool side chair, but preferred to spend most of our days at the beach. Love the cabanas with the hammocks! This was a great change from Medano beach because very few vendors! Yes you can swim at Medano, but is it worth it when you've got a dozen vendors hooting at you all day long?

We stayed through a time share exchange so weren't required to go all-inclusive. But the drinks we purchased at the bar were good. Also, snack food we tried was fine as well. About what I'd expect from all but top of the line all-inclusive.

We'll definitely go back!
