The Palladium Colonial Resort is a 4.5 Star resort that share it's grounds (including the Spa) with another 4.5 star resort and two 5 star resorts. The resort was just beautiful, with everything we needed. We stayed here for 3 weeks, only leaving the resort 3 times: a Mayan day trip which included a visit to Coba, a trip to Playa del Carmen, and a tour of Tulum. There 8 a-la-carts and 4 buffets, 2 beach restaurants and 2 pool restaurants and a weekly BBQ on the beach and 12 bars. You have to make resevations in the lobby for the a-la-carts. Because we were there so long we were able to eat at 7 a-la-carts. I would recommend the Mediterranean, Italian and the Japanese restaurants. The Mexican restaurant scored the lowest.
Our room was on the 3rd floor, villa 6, with a king sized bed, bath/shower, terrace, satellite TV, mini bar, which included beer, water and soft drinks (stocked twice a week), AC and a digital key pad safety deposit box.
Our room was very quiet and very clean. The housekeeper was given a tip every 2nd day and she provided us with oustanding service, including a bath towel arrangement on our bed and table.
There are many activities to do at the resort ( see the hotel web sight), or you can just relax at the beach or the pool. There are no shortages of lounges at this resort. The beach is massive and the water was clear and calm, very easy to float around.
Because the resort is so big there are little trains to transport you from one resort to another. We enjoyed the walking, starting with a 2.5 walk on the beach every morning, and all the walking around in the resort. There are lots of security around the grounds day and night, we always felt safe.
The only problem we had was that after 10 days the food at the buffets all seemed to taste the same. Oh well that was 'our' problem for staying 3 weeks.....
