The Pack Horse Inn is about 20 mins from where we live and when we go to eat here, we are never disspointed. Home cooked, delicious food. We introduced this place a few weeks back to some friends who are also local and they were also impressed like us. Hopefully, they will start eating at this pub like us. On the 9.9.12 we took some relatives who were visiting from Ireland to eat here and they were more than satisfied and with the guest beers that were available, it was a very pleasant evening. The staff are always helpful and willing to accomodate any needs, the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. The views are also fantastic.

My wife and I booked an executive room for two nights based on recommendations on Tripadvisor. We wanted to experience the Peak District and stay at a high-quality, traditional English Inn. From the first moment we were just amazed by the quality of the B&B! Our room had a wonderful view, a modern en-suite bathroom and was tastefully decorated. There was wifi and a selection of teas and coffees, fresh fruit, fresh milk etc. Everything was so clean throughout the pub, restaurant and the rooms, we could not believe it ! The service was great - people really went out of their way to help us with any query we might have - happy smiling faces all around ;) We had dinner both Saturday and Sunday - local food with a twist - very nice. The breakfast was high quality, the sausage had taste and the mushrooms were cooked to perfection. At the end of the stay they offered us a complimentary late check-out, so that we could shower and relax before leaving for the airport - which was really the perfect ending to a wonderful stay. This place is a gem - we will surely return !

This was a great find for our 1 night stopover close to Stockport. Excellant room, pleasant, helpful staff and very good pub food. Wonderful views and very nice landscaped gardens. WE would certainly visit again.

Room tip: we had an executive room on the top floor. It looked out over the front of the building and had good views. The road was just below but their was no traffic noise during the night.

Was looking for 1 night stay in the dales and usually stay in Rowsley near Chatsworth and had just come from a spa hotel in Nrth Yorkshire, which was lovely but expensive. On arrival at the Packhorse we were met by wonderful staff who made us feel so welcome and could not do enough to accomodate us. The superior room wa amazing and equally as good as the one we had stayed in the night before - infact better with fruit, sweets every type of tea etc. The room, pub and gardens were emaculate. Well done to all. Will definately be returning. Billiant vaulue for money.
