My 2 adult brother's & S-I-L meet up in Banff for a family ski trip. (4 tall adults) I read all these reviews before heading up, so I knew what to ask for. We found a steal online - someone getting rid of a time share they couldn't use. Worked out for us!

Here's the deal. This place was good to us! Our room was a bit small, but it was cozy. (1BR) We used the fire place and had homemade meal 5 out of the 7 nights.

Definately request the renovated units! I made sure to do this based on other reviews. The pull out couch wasn't bad at all. I was the lucky one to get it, and had to share it with my brother. I brought an air bed -just in case- based on the reviews of the poor mattress, but I never had to use it. We slept fine on the pull out. We stored our suitcases in the car, due to space.

The outdoor jacuzzi rocked! They also have a sauna, and a great massage therapist. We all got one ofter skiing. ( I LOVE SUNSHINE MTN!!!)

They have outdoor grills near the jacuzzi - great idea for grilling up some grub! They have games at the sports desk you can take to your room. Trivia persuit anyone?? We didn't like the fee for internet usage...boo! Should be free, in my opinion.

We had a rental SUV, and the town is close enough. Def not walking distance. Tons to do in Banff - I loved it! Gondola ride, nature walks, skiing, spending quality time with family.

Resort is out of the banff's centre, okay if you have a vehicle they do have a shuttle we never used it, location gives quick access to the TransCanada highway to Sunshine or Lake Louise . The rooms were clean, we stayed in a one bedroom suite with a kitchen, by the time you pulled out the sofa bed it was too small! The pool and hot tub areas were fine, in general the facilities were okay but you don't sleep in the lobby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Because the rooms size I give this hotel a 2

Just finished the second week of our month long vacation with TAN and again I have nothing but praise. Banff was a total surprise from what I expected. Having just arrived from a stay in Molokai Hawaii, I was not expecting to be awed by the landscape of a ski resort, boy was I mistaken. The majestic backdrop of the Canadian Rockies was a sight I'll not soon forget. My stay at the Rocky Mt. resort was pleasant and comfortable. Loved the fireplace in the room. Very romantic. Will recommend to anyone who loves winter sports. We plan to come back in the warmer months to explore this area further. Thank you TAN and Rocky Mt. Resort for another fabulous vacation.

“make sure you get a newly renovated room....”

Stayed 2 nights in a 2 bedroom unit at the end of January. The first room we received was an "un-renovated one". It was old, the cupboard was falling of the hinges, the closet door was missing, tiles in the washroom/showers were black. The carpets were stained and dirty. Over all, it was just bad! To top it off, housekeeping did a bad job in getting it ready as there were still crumbs of food on the counter and carpets. The second room we were given was worse.

On the third attempt, the hotel was able to get us the last of the newly renovated rooms. The room was night and day to the non renovated room. I'm not saying that it's the best on Banff Avenue, as I've stayed in better rooms. But considering what we were given to start, it was better by far.

I'll have to give the front desk clerk who helped us out that night applause for her patience and understanding as we went back time and time again to get a better room. However I honestly think that we got the older rooms because we booked and paid via Expedia, which offered a great rate. I get a feeling that had we payed rack rate or booked it directly with the hotel, we would haver received the newer rooms right away.

I don't think they should even bother selling the old rooms as it just shows how shappy the hotel is. Why risk loosing future business or bad word of mouth??

The last complaint that I have is that even in the newer room the housekeeping was only passable. There were sections of carpet that had dirt on it, a dead fly on one of the walls and stains on the sheets... and trust me when I say that I didn't purposely go around looking for problems!

I didn't get to use the amenities (indoor pool, gym, restaurant etc) as we were there for a short time, so can't comment but the location is furthest away from the main strip. Luckily they have a shuttle. But perhaps in the summer, I would rather find something that's within walking distance to the shops on Banff Ave.

Overall, I would return, only if I can be guaranteed a newly renovated room and if they have a great sale on.

We received a very warm welcome from the reception staff, late on cold -19c January night, Our one bedroom condo was warm but very small and very tired, it was in a serious need of updating, it was very basic indeed and everything was very worn, The bed and pillows were very lumpy, the sheets although clean were ripped and had holes. Beware of staying in a ground floor condo as children tap dancing in ski boots above you is very irritating.
The location is good about 10mins from Bannf, we had a car so cannot comment on the bus service. Although near to the road and Trans Canada highway it was quiet, just the occasional train horn.
The staff at the resort were all very friendly and the cleaners made a fair job every day, in fact changing the laundry more often than we expected.
There was plenty to do at the resort, but we did not use the facilities, we did go on the free organised walks and saw some great scenery and wildlife. We had elk grazing nearby.
We came to Bannf to be at a wedding, If you ski there is plenty of choice, if you are non skiers like us the a week is about enough.
Bring plenty of money everything is expensive, (except petrol).
It is a very beautiful area in the winter, and I sure equally as much in the other seasons, and we are glad we came, when it snowed it was all cleared quickly by the resort staff,
As you will gather we have no complaints about the staff, just the very small tatty condo. (we even kept our cases in the car).
The car parking is free here, on our one night staying at another resort we paid 35dollars to park over night.
Good places to eat, Bison Bistro, Tony Romas, Bumpers, avoid the Old Spagetti Factory, cheap but awful.
