A practical, no frills hotel. The room was big and clean. The dining room looked more like a large cafetaria and was always empty so we never ate there, though there are plenty of others nearby. The bar is for chain smoking fruit machine addicts only. Pool area was small and a bit spartan, the sauna/steam room looked rather neglected. Be aware its a good 20 minute walk to the town proper, though buses pass every half hour.
The staff were super friendly and helpful.

Very disappointed, right on the edge of town. Did not meet the expectations of the cost. Door to room wasn't secure (looked like it had been kicked in at some point) which did not appear to be much of a concern when reported to the maid service supervisor. Her comment was to the effect that they were aware and the maids had been told about it. Despite this, we returned after the room had been serviced to find the door not secure!!!
Additional concern was being woken at 4.20am with constant knocking on the door - presumably someone who had come to the wrong room (under the influence of alcohol???). To be fair - rapid response from reception to remove our visitor when we rang. General impression was an over priced motel that 'had no soul'.

After being frequent visitors to Banff, we have stayed at many hotels, many more expensive than the Spruce Grove Inn. The rooms in this hotel are huge compared to others, very clean, new, and nicely decorated. Excellent "luxurius" value for your money. We will try to always stay at this hotel in the future.

We have stayed at the Voyager twice, in 2000 & 2001. It is excellent value for money, with comfortable spacious rooms, daily maid service, clean and well equiped bathrooms. Within walking distance of downtown Banff. Friendly, helpfull staff. Bar a little too dark, although convenient. Restaurant okay, handy for an early coffee or cup of tea. The outdoor heated pool is really superb, water lovely and warm, relax and enjoy the view. Indoor whirlpool and sauna well worth a visit. Well stocked liquor store, sells wines, beers and spirits, @ normal prices. We have booked to stay there again this spring (2003).
