Just spent 3 nights at the Voyager Inn. As others have stated it is a no frills hotel but considering the cost it was okay. My room was spacious and clean. My only words of advice would be to ask for a room towards the back of the hotel because my room on the main street was extremely loud all night. Our room was pretty warm so there may not be air conditioning. It was about a 15 minute walk into town. I quite enjoyed the walk when I went.

We booked in advance because we heard Banff can be full during the summer. When we checked in to our room, we were greated by a pile of filthy towels that the maid had forgotten to remove. The beds were saggy and uncomfortable. A lightbulb was out and two requests for a replacement did not solve this problem. The hotel is the furthest one out of town and requires a drive to reach the center of town. The outside appearence is the ugliest one in Banff. We arrived the week of the Calgary Stampede and practically all the hotels had vacancies. This was a big mistake!

A practical, no frills hotel. The room was big and clean. The dining room looked more like a large cafetaria and was always empty so we never ate there, though there are plenty of others nearby. The bar is for chain smoking fruit machine addicts only. Pool area was small and a bit spartan, the sauna/steam room looked rather neglected. Be aware its a good 20 minute walk to the town proper, though buses pass every half hour.
The staff were super friendly and helpful.
Good for the money but we wished we'd paid a bit more and stayed somewhere more central

Very disappointed, right on the edge of town. Did not meet the expectations of the cost. Door to room wasn't secure (looked like it had been kicked in at some point) which did not appear to be much of a concern when reported to the maid service supervisor. Her comment was to the effect that they were aware and the maids had been told about it. Despite this, we returned after the room had been serviced to find the door not secure!!!
Additional concern was being woken at 4.20am with constant knocking on the door - presumably someone who had come to the wrong room (under the influence of alcohol???). To be fair - rapid response from reception to remove our visitor when we rang. General impression was an over priced motel that 'had no soul'.
