I just stayed two nights at the Voyager. It was recommended by a local travel agent as a budget hotel. The room was clean, and the staff was very friendly.
Even though Voyager is about a 20 minute walk from the center of town, many of the other hotels in town are at that end of Banff Avenue and just as far. On the plus side, the Voyager is right across the street from a reasonably-priced ski rental shop.
I paid about $60 Canadian per night. Hotels one block away were charging over $100. The more expensive hotels have fireplaces in the lounge and prettier decorations like exposed post-and-beam.
This is not your honeymoon suite, but for a room and a bed, I would stay there again.

I called to cancel but they had no record . I tried to talk to them., They transferred me from Dept to Dept to Dept.THey do not know who I should talk to. I left messages and after a few days, finally I called again and talked to the reservation. They still charged me the amount of $300.I am not happy to pay that money for nothing. I wiil talk to BBB.
Just spent 3 nights at the Voyager Inn. As others have stated it is a no frills hotel but considering the cost it was okay. My room was spacious and clean. My only words of advice would be to ask for a room towards the back of the hotel because my room on the main street was extremely loud all night. Our room was pretty warm so there may not be air conditioning. It was about a 15 minute walk into town. I quite enjoyed the walk when I went.

We booked in advance because we heard Banff can be full during the summer. When we checked in to our room, we were greated by a pile of filthy towels that the maid had forgotten to remove. The beds were saggy and uncomfortable. A lightbulb was out and two requests for a replacement did not solve this problem. The hotel is the furthest one out of town and requires a drive to reach the center of town. The outside appearence is the ugliest one in Banff. We arrived the week of the Calgary Stampede and practically all the hotels had vacancies. This was a big mistake!
