From TripAdvisor, this looked like the best hotel for the money, and it certainly proved to be true. First off, the staff were very friendly and helpful, even arranging for two middle-of-the-night deliveries (to a sister hotel) of our lost luggage.
Our room was very nice-sized, especially the bathroom, with both a shower AND a bathtub. The indoor pool and jacuzzi areas were also very nice.
The hotel definitely IS a 15 minute walk to town, but with our rental car, that proved to be no problem. Ample (free) covered parking was appreciated as well.

We'd certainly not look elsewhere if we returned to Banff.

We stayed in a kitchenette suite - one room with a double bed and one with twin beds, seperated by the kitchen and bathroom areas, perfect for our family of 4. Very clean and only a 10 minute walk into the main downtown area past a Safeway supermarket. The last bit of the downtown road is being dug up but this did not spoil our enjoyment of Banff. I also enjoyed the really pretty cascade gardens at Canada place too

We spent 4 nights here and really enjoyed it. The outside of the building is no great shakes, kind of a throwback to the 70s. Our room was very nicely appointed and quite large. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean everything was, too - spotless every time we came back from touring. They even replaced a cracked coffee carafe without being told about it!

It's a bit of a hike to the downtown shops and restaurants (especially after doing some healthy walks around the mountains and lakes), but certainly doable by most everyone. They even provided coffee and cookies in the lobby that no one seemed to know about (except us of course!).

We thought it was a nice, quiet place to stay and would do it again if we return.

We spent 4 nights at Charletons Cedar Court mid-July and were happy to be several blocks from all the downtown road construction! We also had a loft suite with fireplace, lots of room to spread out and everything clean as a whistle. Loved the terry robes. Hotel and grounds very attractive. We enjoyed the tables and chairs on the second floor decks overlooking Banff Ave as an end-of-day relaxation/libation spot. This was a super value booked thru Priceline, would definitely stay there again!
