My hubby and I got back yesterday from a 3 night "mini" ski break in Banff, and stayed at the High Country Inn.
We booked through Expedia and got a great rate (approx. $85.00 cdn per night), so we weren't sure what to expect upon arrival.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay! The Auzzie gal at check in was quite nice and helpful, and our room was quite large, and very clean. There even was a little welcome note from the housekeeper! the hotel itself is a short walk to the main shopping and dining area of Banff (less than 5 minutes, I think), and there is a Safeway just around the corner to stock up on whatever you need for the stay.
We found that all areas of the hotel were spotless - even the elevator, which in a previous review was deemed "scary to get into"... The pool area was extremely clean and bright, and the pool itself seemed to be at a lovely temperature, as were the two hot tubs in the pool area.
The Continental Breakfast was basic but adequate, with toast, a couple of cereals, coffee and tea, juices, some basic fruit and self made belgian waffles.
I really thought that for the amount we paid for the room we got really good value. I would definately stay there again!
