My wife and I spent two days of fantastic spring skiing in early May this year. The snow was great, and the crowds were non-exsistant. Unfortunately, some problems with the hotel marred our stay.
The re-done rooms are not bad, but a few details need some attention. Our bedsheets had tears, the blanket had some suspicious stains, and the bathroom had a faint sewer smell.
The restaurant seemed reasonably priced, but we must have caught the chef on his weekend off, as all of the meals seemed to be lacking. Our server the first morning must have had a little too much fun the night before, as he seemd glazed and inattentive. We ordered a breakast burrito, no home-fries, and pancakes with strawberries, and were then served an omlete, complete with home-fries, and blueberries on the pancakes. Perhaps the servers should take notes. Lunch over at the day lodge was absolutely abismal.
I guess you have to expect some noise at a ski resort on a Friday night, but being woken up at 1:00 AM by a shouted conversation in the hallway about the loss of control of bodily functions doesn't provide the fondest memories.
While the skiing was fantastic, the lodge does not provide good value for money. We won't be returning for a second stay. Better, less expensive accommodation can be found in the townsite.
