The Banff gondola took us up Sulphur Mountain and from there we got lovely views of Banff, and the surrounding mountains. It was still really warm up there even though it was a high altitude. We had a lovely meal in the panorama restaurant, and as it was a buffet could eat as much as we wanted. It was a really lovely trip.

Myself,my husband and our son just returned from a trip to Banff.
We went on the Gondola and i`m so happy that we did. The Gondola is located about a 5 minute drive from Banff,it was very easy to find. There was quite a line-up to get on the Gondola but i`m happy to say that the line-up moved very quickly, so we didn`t have to wait very long at all.
The view at the top of the mountain was just beautiful. We got some really awesome pictures. Our trip took place on July first and it was still a little cool at the top of the mountain.
The ride on the Gondola was very smooth. I thought that i was going to be nervous but i wasn`t.
There is a restaurant and a cafeteria at the top of the mountain. We ate breakfast at the cafeteria and found it to be very expensive and the portions were very small. We regretted not eating at the hotel before we left.
But i would have to say that our experience was wonderful. It is not cheap to go on the Gondola but definatly worth it...it was money well spent. I would recommend this to anyone. All of the staff that we encountered were very nice and very friendly.

We rode the Banff Gondola on the 05 May 07 when there was still quite a large amount of snow. The Gondola is located just 5 minutes from Banff Township and costs C$24.95 per person to take the ride to the upper Gondola terminal. The views up there are exceptional, and weather permitting you can walk the boardwalk to the higher mountain. Located in the terminal is the obligatory sounvenir shop and eating area. It is quite nice to sit down and relax over a cup of coffee whilst taking in the views. Watch out for the standard photo pack they offer!

This was the second time my husband and I had visited the gondola. The first time was in August 2003, it was so busy. This time however it was a different story. There were no lines, only us. Although the day was really overcast we had a great walk along the boardwalk to the weather station, there was no one else about, just us and the snow and the trees. It was brilliant.

Whilst it may be a little pricey I would say it's worth it. The views are stunning, you can see for miles and miles in all of directions.
