My wife and I wanted to spend a weekend, and we were lucky to find a loft room available here with just a week's notice.

The hotel's located close to downtown, but not too close. We were able to walk to shopping and restaurants in about 5-10 minutes. Check-in went smoothly, and heated underground parking was a pleasant surprise.

The loft had great architectural features - lots of windows and interesting angles to the ceiling features. We lit and enjoyed the fire, and were able to read, sleep and spend time in the rooms without feeling cramped. The extra blanket helped get rid of a chill we had from walking downtown.

We found the lodge had a great spa, with a terrific hot-tub.

Overall, a great place to stay.

We spent two nights there in February. We have stayed there many times in the past and keep going back. The Caribou Lodge is great bang for your buck! Compared to others it can't be beat. There is nothing about it NOT to like. The rooms are neat and clean,the beds are comfortable and warm on a cold winters night. Bathrooms are perfect and the new toiletries they provide are very good!!! The lobby is cozy and warm and people are always sitting there enjoying it together with friends. The food in The Keg,their restaurant, is some of the best in Banff! We have eaten many meals there and not had any bad food or bad service,great atmosphere to boot. The new Spa is just icing on the cake,so to speak. We used the hot tub and the steam room and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a pleasant short walk into downtown and all the other things Banff has to offer,from the hotel.They do provide a free shuttle bus,but we never needed it. The walking was half the fun.You take the first Banff exit off of Hwy 1 to get to the hotel,just before you start getting to the buildings there is a clearing on the right side of the road and wildlife gather there in the early evening,great treat to see!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Caribou lodge and can't fault the level/quality of service, accomodation and food. We have two young children 5 & 4 and they were very well looked after by all the staff during our stay.
All the staff were helpful, polite and friendly, offerring advise and assistance when needed. It was nice to see familiar faces who recognised us from the previous year, remebering what the kid's liked for breakfast and their bed time drinks - which were free of charge - as well as my usual pint of Canadian beer - which was not free of charge - well you can't win them all

We stayed at the Banff Caribou Lodge in Jan 2008 for 2 weeks.

This was our first trip to Canada and the staff at the Banff Caribou Lodge could not do enough to help. The staff helped us with tickets, directions and general bookings and it was never too much to ask.

The hotel is situated at the bottom of Banff Avenue and is a 10 minute walk to the shops and main restaurant area (a taxi cost around 6 dollars). There is a free shuttle bus also, but we hired a car, which we personally found more convenient.

The reception area was very welcoming; with a large fire place (which was lovely after walking about in -10 weather). The rooms were very clean and large with 2 queen size beds, hairdryer, TV and tea/coffee facilities. Maid service was everyday.

The restaurant in the hotel provided a great buffet breakfast, which was always busy, but the service was friendly and to a high standard. Highly recommended.

Overall I would recommend the Banff Caribou Lodge and Banff itself to anyone!
