My husband and I stayed here with our ten year old son in May.

We found the hotel welcoming and quite cosy, especially in the evening, we would sit in the lounge and play cards and have a drink.

The room was nice and spacious, with a small seating area. The only downside would be that it was maybe a little dull.

We ate in the restaurant a couple of times, the food was okay, nothing spectacular, service a little slow at times. We had one meal in the lounge (just a burger) and found that service much quicker.

The pool and jacuzi are very nice, I have to say that sitting in the jacuzzi and looking out the window at th Rockies, complete with snow on top, on our first night was a Kodak moment!

One strange thing was that the bar ran out of white wine one evening! That was it, no wine! I was a bit surprised they just didnt get a member of staff to pop out and buy a couple of bottles.

Generally, we enjoyed our stay here, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, we felt overall it was good value for money.

Nice hotel. Go for an upgraded room if you can.
The rooms on the front have alot of traffic noise.
The rooms did not cleaned until 3.30-4pm when you have been out all day you want a wash and a sleep before dinner, no chance you have to get the cleaners to come and make the room up.
The bar closed at 10pm (Had to go next door for a drink)
When we asked why we where told That's The Rundlestonefor you ? Make of this what you will.
That a side nice hotel.

We were in room 244 which was very large and sited at the back of the hotel so was quiet. You could hear the odd train whistle but not enough to keep you awake and it only seemed to start after 5.30am. We had the window open all night and slept very well. There is a small side road behind the hotel but it didn't appear to be used much at all whilst we were there.

All fixtures and fittings in the room were in a very good state of repair. There was no fridge in the room. A coffee maker was provided and one sachet of coffee plus milk powder - no kettle. A petrol station, located a few hundred yards down the road as you walked towards central Banff, had a grocery shop attached for milk, coffee, tea bags and a large Safeway supermarket was about 1/4 mile down the same road.

The sink was located outside the bathroom ie just as you walked in the main door - the bathroom was very large and empty so why the sink was put outside was a mystery. It meant there was virtually no where to put toilet bags/make up bags/toothbrushes etc and this was compounded by the fact there was no shelf in the bathroom either.

There was an iron and ironing board in the room.

There were several large public areas with comfortable seating in them and two large fire places for winter. Breakfast was served in 'Jack Pines'. Hot buffet was 14 Canadian dollars, cold buffet 10 dollars. The cold breakfast consisted of tea/coffee, 4 types of bread to toast, croissants, small Danish pastries, muffins, three bowls of fresh fruit - melon, peach halves and mixed fruit salad - 3 types of cereals and yoghuts. The hot buffet included sausages, bacon, porrige, pancakes.

Confectionary and soft drink vending machines were located on each floor.

We didn't try the restaurant in the evening.

Our friend was in room 270 - at the front of the hotel and he did hear traffic and could not have the windows open at night.

It was the very start of the summer season and the staff were cheerful and friendly but not quite 100% up to speed.

The hotel is located on Banff Avenue - sited about 10-15 minute direct walk to the centre of Banff - there were numerous and varied reastaurants on the avenue itself and in the town.

I booked this hotel based on the rating of being #7 out of so many hotels in Banff and being within my price range. After staying there, I am surprised that it rated as high as 7 as I have stayed in other places in Banff that I liked much better with lower ratings. We paid a few dollars more for a "premium" room and to be honest I was tempted to ask to see a standard room to find out what the difference was (aside from the cost). I would definitely not stay here again. Nothing was wrong (aside from chipped furniture and gum on the bedpost) but I was disappointed based on the rating. I just think I could do a lot better for the price. Also note that you are not allowed to wear your ski boots in the lobby or bring your snowboards or skis into the hotel. When coming back from your day of skiing you have to press a button to open the garage door and walk down the driveway into the car park and leave your gear there. They do have lockers you can store it in for a $10 deposit. This definitely took a few guests by surprise as they returned from their skiing.

“One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at!”

I LOVED this hotel. We booked this hotel before they re-did their website so we weren't expecting it to be as nice as it was! We were greeted at the front desk by a very friendly, helpful man and a warm atmosphere with a fireplace and comfy leather couches. We stayed in the "Premier Honeymoon Suite" for one night and it was perfect! The room was the largest in the hotel (we saw the floor plan of the building) and it was amazing. It was loft style, so the downstairs had a full bathroom, complete kitchen with full-sized fridge, stove, sink, counter, cupboards etc, a dining room with a big table, large jacuzzi, 4-sided gas and wood fireplace, family room with couch and chair, tv with dvd player and an amazing, huge, wrap-around balcony!! Then the upstairs had a king bed, tv and bathroom with toilet and sink. Simply amazing. Even the little things pleased me, like the toiletries they provided - the lotion smelled SO good and they even provided a little pot of lip balm. The jacuzzi had really luxurious robes for us to use too. It was close to a lot of decent restaurants and the downtown part of Banff. The underground parking lot was heated, which was nice! I would definitely reccommend this hotel to anyone, and try to get this Honeymoon Suite! It's definitely worth the extra money!
