I stayed at this Radisson for a night while on a business trip to Calgary. I was quite impressed. Radisson are making a big deal about their new beds: I could select and change the stiffness / softness of each side of the king sized mattress in my room, using a hand-held remote. A nice touch, for those who like their beds "just so". The room and the bathroom were otherwise clean and nicely furnished. The in-room internet access was hassle-free and free of charge. The air conditioning worked well and was easy to control. The hotel lobby is extremely spacious, full of comfy chairs and a perfect meeting place. Front-desk service was extremely quick and friendly. There is no view to speak of, but I did not expect any, given the convenient location close to the airport and along the a major highway. Overall, this is a recommended hotel for business travellers in Calgary.

The first room they gave us had a bed in it with a deflated mattress.
After a big hassle, they moved us to a better room they said. That room was on the highway side out front, you could hear every car and
truck go by all night long. The bed in this room did not work either,
but at least it was inflated. The heater in the room cooked us since the thermostat did not work. Ask for a room on the pool side if you prefer a little peace and quiet.

Every thing about it (hotel/room) was unkept and worn out including the ice machine that did not work. The personnel must have been trained to be unhelpful and care less about anything. It is clear that nothing is being put back into this hotel our its employees. Raddison can and does a better job than most, but not here.

“Missing winter jackets after our stay”

Radisson Hotel Calgary Airport

We arrived at the Radisson prior to leaving the country for a week long warm weather holiday. We were very impressed with the staff, the room, the restaurant, etc., and thought we had it made. We left early the next morning to catch our flight, and returned a week later to stay again before heading home. When we got our "cold weather clothes" out of our car, which had been parked at the hotel for the week, we discovered that we were missing our expensive down filled winter jackets. My husband suddenly remembered hanging them in the closet of our room the week prior, and realized that he had not taken them out of the closet when we checked out the week before. We went to the front desk immediately and were passed from pillar to post. The young manager on duty seemed to want to ignore the whole issue, but we persisted. We finally talked to someone in housekeeping who said there was no record at all of anything having been left in our room, and that was that. I insisted on being allowed to go down to the lost and found room to see for myself, and there was nothing. There was also nothing on the log where items that are left behind are documented. Yesterday we left the hotel after leaving a long explanation of our "problem". Today we got a call from the head of housekeeping who basically tried to turn the whole thing around on us. "Could we have left our room door open? Did we take the shuttle and leave the coats on the shuttle?" (at which time I advised we don't take our down filled jackets to Mexico....), and on it went. We ended up purchasing a replacement coat for me while in Calgary; not exactly a perfect ending to our vacation. Apparently this issue will be discussed with the management, but I am not holding my breath. Prior to this incident, I would have returned there any day; after this, though, we won't return again.

The hotel was a little old but being in the airport area, this hotel is quite good. My husband and I stayed in the 10/F room with the jacuzzi tub and it was spacious although the layout is definitely 'old'.

While the stay was good, the front desk staff was quite rude upon check in. This was just not experienced by us but a few other guests of ours who were checking in under our room block for the wedding. The girls in the Front Desk were snappish and were grumpy. Gah, to think they are supposedly the FRONT DESK people!!!

Eating in their restaurant was quite good although, if you're a big breakfast eater - just go to the next door DENNY's.

We arrived late to a smelly non-smoking room that smelled smoked in. The swimming pool room temperature was too cold to swim in - and I am a committed swimmer, I'll swim anywhere anytime - it was freezing in there. The convenience store wasn't open when it said it would be - we were tired and crabby - one of us had to catch a 6 am flight, the others begin a 3600 km car journey the next morning - not a great night.
However, when we complained on our return home, the hotel manager was quick to apologize, explained that the pool room problem had been rectified, the rooms on our floor were slated for redecorating within the next 6 months and that the clerk at the store had been reminded of its need to meet customer's expectation. Then refunded a sufficient amount of our bill to make us feel better.
I'd give them another shot just because they treated our minor complaints so well. It's close to the airport, the shuttle service was excellent to the airport and it's a quick journey to the Trans Canada Hwy in the morning when you want to hit the road early.
