We arrived at the Radisson prior to leaving the country for a week long warm weather holiday. We were very impressed with the staff, the room, the restaurant, etc., and thought we had it made. We left early the next morning to catch our flight, and returned a week later to stay again before heading home. When we got our "cold weather clothes" out of our car, which had been parked at the hotel for the week, we discovered that we were missing our expensive down filled winter jackets. My husband suddenly remembered hanging them in the closet of our room the week prior, and realized that he had not taken them out of the closet when we checked out the week before. We went to the front desk immediately and were passed from pillar to post. The young manager on duty seemed to want to ignore the whole issue, but we persisted. We finally talked to someone in housekeeping who said there was no record at all of anything having been left in our room, and that was that. I insisted on being allowed to go down to the lost and found room to see for myself, and there was nothing. There was also nothing on the log where items that are left behind are documented. Yesterday we left the hotel after leaving a long explanation of our "problem". Today we got a call from the head of housekeeping who basically tried to turn the whole thing around on us. "Could we have left our room door open? Did we take the shuttle and leave the coats on the shuttle?" (at which time I advised we don't take our down filled jackets to Mexico....), and on it went. We ended up purchasing a replacement coat for me while in Calgary; not exactly a perfect ending to our vacation. Apparently this issue will be discussed with the management, but I am not holding my breath. Prior to this incident, I would have returned there any day; after this, though, we won't return again.
