“nice hotel and restaurant”

Hyatt Regency Calgary

i stayed at the hyatt on a business trip and had a very nice stay. rooms were nice and clean. concierge was great with restaurant/shopping recommendations. generally service was quite good. my favourite part of the hotel was the restaurant downstairs. the food was good and it's a nice cozy place to have a drink or meal after a long day. the location is very convenient. it's close to shopping and restaurants. my only negative was that i ordered breakfast in my room and the eggs benedict wasn't that great and the side vegetables were far too salty. somewhat surprised as i've had meals in the restaurant downstairs and the food was great. maybe they were off that morning. also it was annoying that i couldn't leave my food tray outside my door as i actually had to call them to pick it up. otherwise those are small things and i certainly would stay there again.

“Take me to the Hyatt!”

Stay here, and you'll get exactly what the Hyatt name usually promises, an elegant, proper, upscale hotel. Great service, a fantastic pool and whirlpool on the 18th floor, comfortable rooms with pillow top matresses, granite baths and fully stocked mini-bars. The place is 6 years old and still sparkles like opening day. Perfect. Make sure to appreciate the hotel's fantastic 6-storey lobby, which is carved-out of an historic structure. Take me to the Hyatt...

This hotel is sooooo generic. It has very little personailty. The rooms (even on the Club floor) are just like any big chain hotel room in any city. Completely uninspired and uninteresting.

There's nothing really wrong with it, but there's nothing that makes it special or makes you want to come back. For a hotel with these rates, you can't help but feel like you're just staying at a Holiday Inn and overpaying.

It does have a GREAT spa though. Definitely worth checking out. But I would recommend staying at the Palliser across the street (same price) and visiting the spa for the day.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency for 7 nights. We drove into the parking garage where they issues us a 5 day parking pass which seemed strange as we were staying for 7 nights. In any event, it went very smoothly. The gave us a room on the 16th floor with a great view of the city. The room itself was nothing special. The great thing about the HYatt was their friendly service. We had visitors at night and they let them park in their entrance for free. They just had to leave the keys with them. The conceirge was very helpful and friendly as was everybody else.

We had the buffet breakfast included with our room rate. It was nothing great but was OK. Pretty limited selection. Very expensive at $16 if we had to pay for it. We had the greatest waitress. Her name is Jennifer and she is one of the best that we have ever had. Very friendly, quick and very accomodating.

We were shocked by the number of homeless and beggars downtown. They are all around the hotel.

This is a high end excellent hotel in a good downtown location. The rooms are immaculate, the service superb. There is a lovely pool and jacuzzi as well as a spa. We called the last minute and were given a good rate that included breakfast during the Calgary Stampede. The front desk was very helpful with dining suggestions as well as directions around town. Parking is $16 a day. The decor is beautiful as well. Do not hesitate to stay here if you get a good rate.
