“Good location but needs updating”

Great location near to everything, but I would say hotel needs updating, noisy bunch of males in adjoining rooms kept us awake well into the early hours. Had breakfast one morning in hotel found it to be not that good and pricey, had better in the smitty restaurant next door on other days.

I suppose you get what you pay for but we were spoilt while in vancouver at the delta suites paid a little more and got much better quality suite and hotel by far. Loved Jasper lovely little town and would highly reccomend Sundogs Tours in jasper for all adventures and transport they were fab company.

Whistler's Inn is located on the main street in Jasper, right across from the Via Rail station. As with most hotels in Jasper, Whistler's Inn is within walking distance of everything in the town. There are two floors with about 30 rooms on each floor. The rooms are well kept and comfortable. One negative is that the walls are pretty thing, as it was very loud when the person in the room next to mine was taking a shower or people walking by in the hall were talking.
We had some problems with some of the other guests on our floor, and the ladies at the front desk were very helpful. They even offered to upgrade us to another room at no extra charge to us, which we were not expecting at all.
The rates are fairly reasonable, ranging from $95-$200 in the low season and $125-$300 in the high season.
Some of the amenities include two restaurants, a pub, gift shop, rooftop hot tubs, steam room, and a rather odd wildlife museum.

We were travelling on the Via Silver and Blue train to Jasper, and picking up a motor coach tour to Vancouver. After being advised we were to be booked into the Jasper Park Lodge for the 2 nights, we checked online and not caring for the remote location, went to Travelocity and chose Whistler's Inn. We had our travel agent book it for us. We were delighted with our room, #215, once we rolled our cases across the street from the train station. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Our room was one of the most spacious and comfortable we've ever enjoyed (making comparisons with Barbados, Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Sicily, Austria, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Las Vegas, Cuba, France, most provinces in Canada, and many states in the U.S. There were two queen beds and a television in the sleeping area, and a separate sitting area one step up with a wall of doors we could close. It was furnished with sofa bed, easy chairs, coffee and end tables, lamps, fireplace, another television set, bar, refrigerator, and had beautiful mountain-views from two walls of windows. We could see the train station, but heard no noise from that area or anywhere else. We thoroughly enjoyed the steam room and hot tubs on the roof just down the hall from our room, as well as the complimentary tour of the wildlife museum in the building. The Pub was handy, and although the food we ordered a little skimpy for the money, the local draught was fine. Smitty's next door was handy as well, and we walked through the town easily, being at such a central point. The only thing we were not happy with was the condition of the bedspreads; they were overdue for replacement. Our next 2 nights were spent in Lake Louise and that luxury hotel was nowhere near as appealing to us. When we return to Jasper, we will choose Whistler’s Inn and Room 215 without a doubt.

We stayed 2 nights at the Whistlers Inn. We had booked a standard room but were upgraded to a suite on arrival. The suite was on the second floor, front corner. We expected it to be noisy with the station across the road, but it was OK. There was some noise from the bar below us, but it was quiet when we went to bed. The bar is frequented by both guests and locals and serves a good selection of food and drink. The suite had space and the bathroom was good, although a little dark. Car parking is limited at the hotel, but there is some on street metered parking nearbye. We would recommend the Whistlers to everyone.
