There is a good reason Le Soleil is rated in the top 5 in Vancouver. A smaller hotel, close to the waterfront and Gastown, fair priced, with friendly, helpful service. The rooms are suite-like, bedroom, sitting room, 2 televisions, comfortable bathroom. There are special packages that make Le Soleil more affordable than many larger chain hotels. Highly recommended.

Know that while Vancouver prepares for the 2010 Winter Olympics, visitors will encounter construction everywhere.

Unique rooms, with lots of gilt trimmings and sitting areas. The hotel is in a good location and is a good value. The only irritation was the bit of attitude at the front desk - as if they were being troubled for what to me are normal questions.

We stayed at Le Soleil for our anniversary. Room was fabulous, location great, food and staff awesome. Somehow our room was booked wrong but hotel upgraded to make it right. Only downside- tough to drop off at the hotel if traffic is heavy due to no off street access.

My husband and I wanted to run up to Vancouver for the weekend. It was 2 days before Christmas and the hotel was decorated beautifully. Our room was not ready when we checked in. We only had to wait about 1/2 hour and it was not bad because we sat next to the fireplace in the lobby. The room was nice. Not big but not too small. It was long and a bit narrow. We had a sitting area with Tv and couch. The desk was in the bedroom. The mini bar had a very interesting assortment of items for sale. A can of oxygen. Never seen that before. The staff was very friendly and the price was good for a weekend in a big city. Very close to Robson street. Maybe a 5 min. walk.
