Upside:
1) Relatively cheap with their 3 nights for 2 offer.
2) Quiet (at rear of hotel)
3) Oven/grill
4) Free Wi-Fi internet access from room
Downside:
1) The hotel misrepresents itself - there is a prominent picture of a waterfront location/building in the front page of the hotel website at http://www.innatfalsecreek.com/ but it turned out that this is NOT the hotel (or the hotel's location), despite it being the only outside shot, and no other picture on their site to counteract this misleading impression. Instead it is an oldish building on a major road in what seemed a run-down district.
2) The name is Inn at False creek - this would support the waterside location implied from the photo above, but is also not the case. It is not AT False creek, although is relatively near.
3) The first impression of the hotel / room was so different from that implied/imagined from the photos on the hotel website we were minded to check out immediately. The room is (apparently partly refurbished) in a very old fashioned style, and gives a dowdy run-down hotel impression. The kitchen and bathroom fittings were old, scratched and dirty, adding to this impression.
4) Coming from Europe we did not know/expect that the fan unit on the wall was the only source of heat - we thought it was an air conditioner and left it alone(off), especially as the scale just said 1-10 with 10 as cooler. We were VERY cold in the night (I caught a chill/Cold which lasted our whole holiday). When we found out it heated and was the only source of heat, we used it only to find it far too noisy and dry for comfort. There was no temperature setting (Degrees or Fahrenheit) - just the scale from 1 to 10 to experiment with each night. It also never shuts off.
