I stayed for 5 nights, beginning Jan. 31. I found the hotel to be clean and quiet. I don't drive, but transit buses go by the front door every few minutes and it's very easy to get downtown. The staff were very helpful and friendly, without exception. Right next door to the hotel is a shopping mall with a liquor store, a drugstore, a supermarket and many other amenities (including a public library with transit maps). Very convenient location.
Close by is Broadway, with east-west transit making shopping easy. Three very decent secondhand bookstores within a stone's throw and more coffeeshops than you can imagine in the Main Street / Broadway area.
The hotel's free continental breakfast, from 7-10 am, was more than enough food. Cereals, bagels, croissants, breads, several kinds of fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and hot beverages every morning. I usually took mine back to my room but there was some seating in the breakfast room.
Next door is the Salt and Pepper Grill, a great place for a lazy brunch or a steak sandwich. Good service and reasonable prices.
The bathroom was very clean and the chambermaid service good. My room faced the busy street, but the double-glazed windows blocked 99% of the street noise. The in-room air conditioner and heater worked well.
I would definitely stay again, and plan to this summer.
