Stayed at this hotel for business........Your never really sure when it comes to private hotels ( not the regular chains ) but this was not bad at all. Front desk was very polite, helpful and courteous at all times as was the staff in the attached restaurant. Rooms were very clean and beds / linens were surprisingly good. I had excellent sleeps. Bath products are by Aveda which is a nice touch.......Two free bottles of water in room replenished daily......another nice touch not having to pay $4.00 a bottle like some other hotels. We used a meeting room for one day which was a good facility plus they provided excellent service for breaks which included soft drinks; coffee etc., with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and a bunch of other things........Very good..The price is cheaper than some of the other downtown hotels by a fairly wide margin.......The only thing that could use some attention I thought was the shower would never get nice and hot only warm almost hitting hot ( no big deal ) and the pressure was very weak. If you are thinking about trying it out I would definately give it a shot. The Shark Club right around the corner in the Sandman is a good place to watch a hockey game etc., as it is a Sports Pub.

Very comfortable, clean and pleasant room. Staff went above and beyond for our visit. Really loved the temperature control in the room,especially important to the disabled, it was so accurate.

Our last hotel on tour and perhaps we were a little tired because the hotel really didn't stand out compared to others we had stayed in throughout the Rockies. Room was comfortable and clean but a little tired itself. In a handy part of Vancouver if you enjoy walking. Places like Robson Street for shopping are quite close but be careful not to take a wrong turn because some of the streets can be a little scary. The hotel foyer is quite small although staff were friendly and there is a bar/bistro which from memory you enter from the foyer where we relaxed and unwound from our exploring. Staff were always happy to get taxis for us when we wanted to go further afield.

I liked the location of this hotel. Close to everything my sister and I wanted. Shopping downtown on Robson, Yaletown, Chinatown and the seabus. We went for the weekend and there turned out to be a football game on the Saturday night. I didn't notice the huge building across the street facing the front before Saturday night. We were on the backside. We came up to the hotel after a long day of shopping and there was a stage, band and football pre party in the street. Right in the resturant of the hotel there was a long line up for what looked like a hot dog buffet. It was a bit of a shock. I didn't mind but I could see how it might bother other guests. We went for dinner and a walk around downtown, then returned to the hotel. From inside we could hear the crowds cheers, more like the vibrations. When the game was over you could hear the streets fill up with people ready to party. The hotel itself is typical. More elegant then most. Great service, friendly people. I would stay there again, but would be careful who I recommend the hotel to during football season.
