“Great location!”

Very cute decor and great location. Staff was helpful and friendly. Clean rooms. Our room was very small, but we booked a "One Queen Bed" room at a discounted rate. It was perfect for what we were using it for, which was sleeping, but if you're planning to spend a lot of time in your room, invest in a larger room.

The location couldn't be better. It's right in the middle of downtown and there is a bus stop on the corner. We did see a couple of hookers on the corner late one night, but we had no problems.

There is a pub on the ground floor and they serve breakfast there every morning. Keep in mind that there are lots of homeless people in downtown Vancouver- but it's everywhere.

In my opinion, if you are there to sight see, just buy a pack of bus passes at 711 and skip the cabs until you have to. Public transportation is easy in Vancouver. There are buses, skytrain, and seabus (ferry) and they all use the same tickets. $2.50 for one zone ticket and $3.75 for two zones. There is a website where you punch in your starting location and where you want to go and it will map out your trip for you.

**Be sure to try out the MegaBite Pizza place.

“Good deal!”

Comfort Inn Downtown

9 Feb 2008

I stayed at the hotel from a Thursday to Saturday. The rooms were surprisngly large and well decorated. Unfortunately the design of the lobby makes it difficult to carry up large luggage because there are no ramps to roll up so you have to carry all your bags up the short flights of stairs. The only other problem I had with the hotel was that it was noisy at night. My window faced out to the main street and I could hear music and the deep bass beats all night. Fortunately I brought ear plugs, so I was able to sleep but I would recommend all future visitors to also bring them! Otherwise, the staff were great and accommodating and there were no other problems. The complimentary breakfast was sparse but I enjoyed the waffles. All in all, if you can tolerate a bit of noise at night, this hotel is a great deal and in a convenient location!

If you want to stay in the middle of everything, and not spend a load of cash, this is it.

However, if you're squeamish about the grittiness of urban nightlife--you may want to reconsider staying here. It's not a business hotel, it's not a family hotel. There's no doubt about your security once you are inside the hotel, and the rooms are absolutely silent despite the bustling streets below. If you're they type to be nervous about parking your car overnight in an outdoor lot, you might want to ask if there are any indoor options nearby. The hotel lot is a public parking lot on a dark corner which gets a lot of traffic.

Otherwise, this property is perfect if you're looking to spend a weekend enjoying Vancouver, eating out, shopping, all that fun stuff.

The rooms are small but very modern, the staff is highly professional. The breakfast is quite exceptional, too. The hotel has a very European flair in design and service.

The design of the hotel is a bit odd, and requires carrying your bags up several half flights of stairs, so it's not a great place if you like to overpack, or aren't good with stairs.

We just returned from a five night stay at the Comfort Inn Downtown. The hotel was in a convenient location - we walked everywhere in the downtown area and only used our car for trips outside the city We did not feel that the neighborhood outside the hotel was unsafe, but it was definitely LOUD. Even my college age sons remarked about the late night street noise. There were police cars outside the hotel three of the five nights we spent at the hotel (In the 1:00 - 4:00 AM time period) It looked like they were dealing with roudy - not dangerous behavior.

I booked a 2 Queen bed room with a sitting area, at an excellent rate. The sitting area included a sofa sleeper, so the room could accomodate up to six people. The room was nicely decorated and was extremely clean. My husband and I were traveling with our two college age sons who prefer to have their own beds, so we used all three beds. When the sofa bed was open there was very little room to get around and not much room for luggage. The room suited us perfectly because we travel on a budget, are light packers and really only use our hotel room to sleep when we vacation. If you are a party of more than four and you wanted to spend more time in the room you would probably find it cramped. An adequaet breakfast was included with the price of the room. Parking in their lot was $14/night.
