We stayed at WorldMark - The Canadian in Vancouver in August. It was absolutely aweful. Extremely small rooms and no air conditioning.
The lack of air conditioning is what made the vacation terrible. Even though the temperature was moderate - low to mid 70's on our visit, the rooms had to be well over 100 degrees during the day on the south side of the building. The staff would not move us to the north side - saying that the rooms were already taken - yet, we later found someone checking in after we asked for the switch and they had been assigned a room on the north.
The building is all glass with floor to ceiling windows - sounds beautiful right? Wrong - there is no way you will be able to tolerate coming back to the room even for a few minutes during daylight hours. The heat will exhauste you and if you think you're going back to change your clothes or take a shower before dinner, forget it. You'll be sweating minutes after getting in the room.
There is a full kitchen that's well equiped, but it'll be too hot to use it if you go in the summer.
We had three fans going full speed and it sounded and felt like a wind tunnel. Unfortunately the windows that open are few and those that do only open a crack - like 2-3 inches.
The resort rooms are on the upper levels, so it just bakes in the sun.
If you use this resort, make sure you go in the winter or you will be terribly dissapointed. Or, ask and get confirmation in writing that you will have a room on the north side of the building - it's possible that those rooms are cooler.
