I came with my wife and Daughter and another family for a one night stay on a weekend. I found the best price in the hotel site itself and it was lower than comparable hotels in the city.
The staff was extremely friendly and we were lucky to get an upgrade on both rooms to mini suites. The hotel is not at all new, but everything is in perfect condition and very clean and has a nice atmosphere about it. In the suite you could actually cook in the kitchenette if you wanted. They also demonstrated exceptional service when we forgot a thermos in the room and they shipped it to us (expedited expensive shipping) with no cost. When we happened to forget stuff in other hotels it was never found...
Great stay, very close to the action in Victoria (1,2 blocks). We highly recommend it.

The hotel is conveniently located about a block from the harbor, with very clean and comfortable rooms and a delightful staff. They offer a free shuttle that will pick you up or take you virtually anywhere you'd care to go in oldtown.

There is a small grocery store in the lobby of the hotel where you can stock up on food and drinks. There's a nice kitchen in the room and even a small dining room niche.

The on site restaurante was great and we had super breakfast there on departure day.

The only wierd thing about the hotel is that the decor reminded me of an old folks home. Everything was very nice, though.

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Scot for two nights in June. When we arrived (early) the front desk said our room would be ready in 45 min. as we had just arrived by float plane from vancouver( best expierence ever!) we checked our bags and had a GREAT lunch in the restaurant. The room was ready after we ate. The entire stay was so pleasurable due to the staff/ rooms and location of the property. We also enjoyed the free shuttle( Darrel was great-soccer fan too) and the gift shop, as we picked up snacks for our "walk abouts" -just a few blocks up the street we found John Bay's tea house.. fantastic English setting and food. It was like having breakfast in ones home. The BC Museum was nice- beware ..they will not let you enter with a back pack you have to remove film/batteries, water, snackes, wallets valuables etc. and check it at a coat check locker. Was told one could "kipe" something.Even though I did see empty strollers, messanger bags and purses the size that would rival Mary Poppins purse.Any way great time had by us. loved the tall ships and the Butchart Gardens (a true gem to the city) would come back in a heart beat. But would go to the museum with a purse next time.. haha. .Oh, high tea at Butchart gardens was Fantastic for the price..so much better then the price at the Empress hotel and just as good. cheers

    • Liked — size of the room/ kitchenette was nice. Location was central/ free shuttle
    • Disliked — Dinner weight staff- arrogant and not friendly (only one male waiter) seemed that way. Appeared to be overwelmed by our request for only dessert. 1 AND 1/2 HOUR WAIT.

This hotel was a great find for our 2 nights in Victoria, I could have stayed much longer.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, just around the corner from the inner harbour and the Parliament building. The walk to the shopping area takes about 10 minutes past the harbour, however the hotel also offers a free mini bus service to anywhere in the downtown area if you don't want to walk.

Our room was lovely, a nice big bed and plenty of space, the bathroom was small but we noticed many hotels in Canada to be like that. It had everything you needed in it though.

We also used the pool and the Jacuzzi one evening, both were clean and great. We were the only ones in there. The hotel also has a laundry, games room and pool room, we didn’t use any of those as we weren’t there long enough but the facilities looked really nice.

I would definitely stay here again and I absolutely loved Victoria, it was one of my favourite parts of our trip around Canada.

I shopped around and got a much better price on Expedia than I did booking through the hotel website.

Happy to answer any questions on this hotel or on Victoria.

The Royal Scot hotel is very well located - just back from the harbour front, it is very easy to get to the key sights in Vicoria. We had a spacious suite, with a large lounge, but the bedroom (and the twin beds) was fairly small. The decor is quite dated, but clean and overall cery un-inspiring. The staff were helpful and friendly.
