I had searched Tourism Victoria's website for a B&B to take my husband to as a 50th birthday surprise. I found Abbeymoore Manor and was thrilled to learn that it was 1 block from where my husband Roy grew up. Upon reviewing the site and looking at the fabulous property, I decided this was the stay for us.
Upon our arrival, we were so impressed by the beauty of the home and the grounds and more so by the warm greeting we received from Michelle, the B&B manager.
Our room was incredible - it was a step back in time with the claw foot tub, the antique furniture and a stunning cherry tree in bloom right outside one of the windows. So much attention had been paid to small details in the room such as a jar of candy, glasses for beverages, reading materials, make up removal tissues, shampoos, etc. They even thought to provide us with a little bag to take the soaps home in if we enjoyed using them.
All of these little efforts made it clear that they cater to and anticipate their guests every need.
The rest of the manor was also set up to accommodate every need with a small library that included a lap top table and port and a comfortable TV viewing or reading room.
Michelle asked us what our dinner plans were for that evening and made several suggestions - what was really nice was that they had the menus from a variety of restaurants on hand so you could have a look at options to suit your taste and budgets.
Anne and Ian, our hosts, prepared an amazing breakfast the next day. Anne baked maple scones (outstanding!), leak and brie quiche with farmer sausage, fresh fruit and all of the beverages you could want.
Ian was the host for the breakfast and we enjoyed his company very much. He shared some tales of how they got into the business and we shared our stories with him.
All in all our stay was far beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Abbeymoore Manor B&B if you are seeking a relaxed, stress free and beautiful environment with gracious hosts while you enjoy your stay in Victoria.
