My wife and I and two daugthers (ages 11 and 13) thoroughly enjoyed our 3-day June/07 stay at Abbeymoore. Abbeymoore has the look and feel of a luxury heritage home...beautiful wood paneling, period furnishings, lush gardens...with the subtle addition of modern conveniences. Hosts Ian and Anne are extremely engaging and helpful. The gourmet breakfasts were excellent. My daughters loved it...how's that for a recommendation. We loved the location. Close to downtown Victoria and its beautiful waterfront and yet situated in a lovely and historic neighborhood of heritage homes and manicured gardens. According to one of our daughters, the view of the mountains and ocean from the penthouse suite was "totally awesome".

My Mother and I stayed for four days - and had a wonderful time!

Ian and Anne provided us with great advise re: where to eat, what to do (and what probably not to do). The accomodations were outstanding. The hospitality was first rate. ..and the breakfasts were delicious~!

“What a Great Place to Stay in Victoria”

Abbeymoore Manor Bed and Breakfast Inn

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Abbeymoore for just one night en route to a wedding. What a great place to stay! We stayed in the Lilac room (I think it was called), which had a lovely queen sized bed and was a lot bigger than it looked on the Abbeymoore website. Green hues and tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable with great linens. The room was not huge, but definitely enough space for the two of us. The bathroom was large with french doors opening to the bedroom. Lovely large towels and aveda products. The toilet is housed in its own room within the bathroom.

The living room of the inn is very comfortable and a nice place to sit reading the paper (which they provide). The Abbeymoore offers free internet on a communal computer, which was a fantastic amenity, especially when I needed to check the bc ferry schedules. They have a variety of books and games to chose from for entertainment, No tv in the room, which was a blessing to me.

Anne and Ian, especially Ian, are super nice and helpful. Ian gave us a great recommendation for dinner and had menus for everywhere he mentioned. Anne has fresh baked cookies (delicious) available at all times and a guest fridge stocked with free sodas and water. There were also free snacks-chips, etc available for guest comsumption.

The breakfast was great. Two courses and cooked to order. They even made my boyfriend a special meal since he did not like what was being served. The dining room has tables for 2 and a group table, so you can chose whether you want to socialize or not.

The location of the Inn was pretty good, a short drive from downtown and just up the street from Governor's House. Governor's House has a wonderful garden to walk around in, which I thought was nicer than Butchart Gardens.

The only real negative with the Inn was parking, there was not enough space in the lot when it's full, but street parking was easy.

We enjoyed our stay.

“Niceness counts”

Abbeymoore Manor Bed and Breakfast Inn

I was booked for two nights at Abbeymoore Manor. Unfortunately, about a week and half prior to check-in, I unexpectedly had to have an emergency surgery, which rendered me medically unable to fly to Victoria.

I called to cancel with trepidation, since I was already within the two-week cancellation window (so penalties could have been applied). Anne was so nice! She cancelled me without penalty. I have traveled enough to know not to expect this kind of niceness; some places would have charged the cancellation penalty and re-booked for those nights.

So, even thought I haven't been able to stay here yet, I give Abbeymoore Manor the highest marks for niceness, which in my view counts for a lot. I would guess Anne and Ian are excellent hosts. If and when I get to Victoria, I plan to stay here.

I recently returned from a three night stay at the Abbeymoore and have only glowing and excellent comments about my stay. My suite was quite large, the amentities of excellent quality and the common space very welcoming. My stay was especially comfortable since there was a large selection of CDs and DVDs available.

I can go on and on about the inn and the top level facilities, but I would rather use my words to share with readers how my visit was enhanced by the wonderful innkeepers, Anne and Ian.

Even prior to my stay, they were extremely accomodating and made it possible for me to settle in to a comfortable suite. Anne offered endless comments on suggestions about activities in the area. I emailed several times PRIOR to my stay and she always responded promptly and with thorough information.

During my stay I experienced a personal and sudden emergency. Ian and Anne offered excellent advice and helped me through a very challenging and emotional situation. My vacation plans were suddenly changed and Ian and Anne helped me salvage my plans.

I have traveled throughout the US and beyond. Very few innkeepers and hotels can come close to comparing to the hospitality and warm welcome I found at the Abbeymoore. I highly recommend the Abbeymoore to all discriminating travelers!!!
