my friends and i went to victoria without any idea on where we are staying/we drove and shop around for a hotel and finally we came to this corner and saw Travellers inn...the front desk was so clean and the reservation agnets were very much friendly, the ambience was very inviting....we checked in and when got in to our room,,,it felt like i was in my room...very clean,organize and relaxing..the kind of room we are looking for....instead of going out right away....we stayed longer in the room and felt relax afterwards...
i vould say that this hotel will be one of my favorite hotels in victoria...a home away from home isay...

This is the most digusting place i've ever stayed in. My bed was covered in BED BUGS, and as a result my body was covered in 15 bites that turned into huge welts. I thought BED BUGS were an urban myth but they exist at this so called motel. This place should be burned to the ground. Don't waste your time or money here, your better off sleeping in the park.

Hotel misrepresents itself on internet (seems to have pool). NOT listed as "Express" on website I used but was on the sign out front. So no pool, etc. Desk clerk said use room key to access pools at T.Inn's around town. Not convenient & my friend was disappointed--she asked me to find hotel with pool. Also the room/price I booked turned out to be basement level--not disclosed as a condition for discount. Clerk didn't know what the room was like before I checked in, hesitant to let me see it (so didn't), made excuses for why I couldn't have another room, didn't know anything about busses that run on Douglas. Small room & small window with NO screen, opening to Douglas St/parking lot. Trash/spider webs in window well. Heavy cigarette smoke in hallway crept into room overnight (no smkng floor). Clerk wouldn't do anything about smoke right then. Seemed no ventilation other than bathroom fan. Room was quiet at night. Ice machine OUTSIDE and broken. No elevator. I asked why called 'central' when so FAR from developed area. It's the Travell Inn headquarters. CREDIT to the housekeepers--room very clean and neat, although they sat outside the housekeeping room talking loudly for 1/2hr in am. Clerks goofing off loudly during check-in. At check-out, clerk said he'd credit me $40 for my complaints, but he only credited $30. I was grateful for discount, but doesn't fix the bad feeling because staff never expressed any concern for our comfort. And I still feel 'tricked'.

Travellers Inn has several hotels in Victoria, so they group the ammenities in travel brochures (even the ones in their rooms) but not all the hotels have pools, (working) internet service, restaurants, or even laundry rooms. And their advertized shuttle service runs with much less frequency than the local buses. Our room was very small, with inadecuate counter and table space, in a basement with a view of the tires of the cars parked outside. The a/c barely kept the room cool. The emergency back doors were propped open for ventilation in the lobby (and for strangers to come in), our phone worked on and off, and so did the remote control to the tv. Their advertized in-room internet service (the sign was flashing at the front desk when we checked in) was not working, and the wireless connection in the lobby was weak. A very uncomfortable and not well run place, and far from the main downtown area.
Not a good deal at all. Next time we'll stay at Pauls.
