Pros: VERY big room with a equipped kitchen and stove, oven, AND microwave. Coffee and tea were both good quality.
Room had an extra bed.
Close to museums, main streets, and park but far enough that it isn't too noisy.
The Noodle Box is a delicious place to eat and it is just down the street from the inn.

Cons: No elevators to get heavy suitcases up narrow, hard-to-maneuver stairs.
Had to pay for parking in small lot. Staff recommended we get back early to ensure parking spot. This was on a Sunday.
Park was not as nice as I thought it would be. Veering off the main path to explore led to unmaintained dying plants and seedy looking people loitering.
Walls are thin. Could hear people walking around above us late at night.

I will definitely consider if I visit Victoria in the future. The bed linen and pillows need upgrading, though. Love the huge kitchenette!

I would rate the actual room higher, it was a suite with a kitchen, very nice and clean with a huge bathroom. Location was great. It's the little things that count though. The AAA book, which just came out in Feb 2007, says the room included free wifi internet and continental breakfast. The front desk person said they stopped that last Sept. They charge extra for everything, parking, internet, breakfast ($10 for rolls and coffee). When will hotels learn that it upsets guests to pay a premium price for a room then add nit-picky charges on top of it? Victoria is getting way too expensive now with the dollar so low, and all the taxes are incredible, won't be going back.

Older style hotel comprising three seperate buildings located very close to Victoria Harbour. Great for dropping off hire car and/or catching bus to Vancouver.
Good value compared with large international chain hotels
Room was very pleasant and a good size.
Limited free car parking but get in early.
