We stayed at the Pinnacle Whistler this past week and had a great time. The entrance is small but casual and the front desk was great but a bit it felt like the desk was too close to the entrance so little privacy is expected. The hotel is small, parking space is very tight - we were able to get the rate reduced to $8 per night vs. the $12 or $15 advertised per night ($8 was the current rate to the general underground parking in the village). Our room was upgraded to the deluxe suite before we arrived and it was nice to have the in room Jacuzzi, however we love King beds it they didn't have any rooms with Kings. The kitchen size was perfect for two people, and we had more than enough space for the two of us. The bathroom is a bight tight and the toilet very low to the floor. Lighting wasn't perfect but we made due (no light above the dining table or near the couch). The bathroom sink is in need of repair room 415 (cracks around the drain). The beds were good and nice pillows. We had a gas fireplace and a nice patio door to get fresh air. It wasn't a balcony but more of a lookout. We had a great view of Blackcomb and trees. Every night at the Pinnacle was very quite - you don't even hear anything from the hallways or rooms adjoining however on the Sat. night we could hear music, but it wasn't bothersome. Our stay was during the TELUS Festival so big crowds on Saturday night. The location for village access was great and just on the east side of the bridge, the walk to the gondola wasn't bad but it would have been nice to be a bit closer it took about 8-10 mins. So after a day of skiing it was easy to stay in our boots etc... For drinks since we would have had to walk all the way to the hotel change and come back - just that we skied all day and often met up with others. Be careful of the elevators they are quick to close. The housekeeping staffs were great. It was a bit of a disappointment to have to walk through the small lobby out the front doors to the side of the hotel to get to the hot tubs and pool we also tried to go for a dip before we left but the front desk staff wouldn't let us in the area until 10am since they do the maintained from 8-10 and we were in the lobby at 7am to scoot over. Bring a pair of flip floops or you'll be walking barefoot outdoors. It would have been a nice morning to sooth our muscles before we checked out. The gym isn't very appealing unless you want to be in a small room with glass windows all around you with two machines side by side just before you enter the pool area. The rate was amazing for the value but I think I would have paid a bit more for some extra for unlimited pool access and more lobby privacy and a slight shorter walk to the village to get our gear off to go back into the village for some drinks. All in all it was a nice place and we would return.
