Stayed for three nights in March 2007. Nothing spectacular. Clean and spacious, and centrally located. Decor is rather drab, however, and staff weren't the friendliest. Also, there were always about 20-25 people just hanging around the lobby. Kind of a strange atmosphere.

This is a wonderful hotel to stay in for your visit in Downtown Winnipeg. We stayed in a Premier Room on the 23rd floor and it was fantastic. The rooms are large, and the amenities are in good condition.

I did mention to the management that cleanliness could be better at a hotel of this quality and they promised to improve. Also our internet stopped working and the front desk gal seemed to be bothered that we took the time to talk to her about the issue. The management ended up saying when we come back to Winnipeg we can stay their again for free.

I travel quite frequently and usually choose chain hotels, a friend told me about the Place Louis Riel so I it tried for the first time. Wow! The suite were spacious and comfortable and for a business suite I paid less than most other hotel room that are about half the size of the suites at the PLR. All the suites have a ktichen which I found ideal to keep my favorite snacks on hand. The staff were friendly and it even has a store and a laundromat can't beat that when you are on the road. I will definately be back!

The Place Louis Riel is my home away from home and has been for close to 20 years. The suites are all comfortable and of a very high standard, the staff are all polite and very accomodating especially the reservations staff, the hotel itself is centrally located in downtown Winnipeg close to our favourite restaurant (the Garry St Keg) and the concierge (Marcel) knows everthing that there is to know about Winnipeg and greets me by my first name whenever I have the good fortune to be a guest.
