This hotel would have rated 5 stars for us, if not for the incredible traffic noise problem!
My husband and I planned a one-night romantic getaway in our own city, and chose this hotel because of a fairly reasonable rate for a king suite with whirlpool, its newness and proximity to a restaurant we wanted to go to for dinner.
The hotel is clean, comfortable, beautifully furnished and feels luxurious when you enter the lobby and then your room. The pool area is small, but clean and adequate, and the breakfast is very nice.
However, our room faced Main Street, which is busy 24 hours a day. We heard general traffic noises, along with squealing tires, sirens and loud motorcycles, as well as the grating of wheels from the trains on nearby railway tracks, all night. We barely slept. If it had not been for the fact that we had no vehicle and were being picked up in the morning, we would have packed up and gone home to sleep. We tried turning up the air conditioning fan for extra white noise, but even that did not help.
A mention of the noise problem elicited an apology from the desk clerk. I asked her if rooms on the opposite side were less noisy, and her response was "they can be", whatever that means.
If you can tolerate noise or have a pair of excellent ear plugs, do not hesitate to stay at this hotel, as every other aspect is top notch.
