As the others noted, if you are looking for value, then Banner B&B might be a good choice for you. However, there were issues that we have decided would be worthwhile to pay a little more. We stayed there for 5 nights in August of 2011. We opted for the larger bedroom with the private bath. The room itself was clean enough, but the whole house is in need of repair and, well.. it's just looking rather "tired." I'm sure it's very expensive to keep up and Diane has her hands full trying to do that. Also as noted by the other reviewers, the stairs to the guest rooms are quite steep. The floors are creaky, so if you have to get up in the night, you worry about waking others. That big front room faces the street. A very BUSY street with a stop light right at the corner, so it was noisier than we anticipated, as the photos imply that it is in a very quiet residential neighborhood. It is, but that a very busy surface street. Diane does cook up a nice breakfast, but she only serves one item. She thinks up an item and asks the guests one day if that item sounds good for the next day. So, if you arrive during the day, you have no say in what you'll be served the next morning. If you don't like what she serves, what remains isn't much. She would probably get you a bowl of cereal if you asked, but nothing like that is set out for you to choose, etc. So, you sort of feel obligated to eat what is served. Guests all sit at one table in the dining room, so if you want to eat alone, reading the paper, etc. forget it. But our biggest complaint was the lack of security. The lock, if you can call it that, on the bedroom door was a joke. So we most certainly did not feel comfortable leaving our belongings in the room when we left for day outings. Not that we didn't trust Diane, but we certainly didn't know who else was in the house. We had to run the A/C day and night, but it wasn't very effective. She said we wouldn't need it at night, but we did - if for nothing else, to drown out the street noise, but that upstairs bedroom was hot as well. We will not stay there again.
