This is an interesting spot to visit. Many people will just walk around and explore the old British fort on their own, but i reccomend going into the tourist information spot and joining a tour. It is so much more interesting to hear about how certain areas were used...the problems they faced while serving there and to hear about the ditch around the fort. The fort is right in the middle of the city and up on a hill. So you can either climb stairs or walk up the roadways ( or drive, yes there is parking). There's a little canteen in there where u can buy drinks or snacks---last time i was there). There's a museum you can walk through showing uniforms, bunks and such. If you go before noon you can get there and watch them fire the noon day gun over the city. It happens everyday..or changing of the guard. Can't recall what time that happens at though. But yes, grab a tour guide. You will find out interesting tidbits...like did you know this British fort was actually designed by a French man?
