“Great Package and Value”

Holiday Inn Niagara Falls-By The Falls

Stayed at Holiday Inn at the Falls over the xmas holidays. Paid 139.00 per night for two and stayed two night. It included two nights dinner and one was at the Skylon Tower. Also included two full breakfasts at the hotel. Excellent room and was right across from the casino. Not falls view but not far to walk to the falls and you don't have to pay the high price for this. Excellent food and the skylon tower was very nice. Although don't think the food was worth the high price shown on the menu ( if you had to pay for it) Staff very nice. Loved the bathroom in the dining room/lounge area of the hotel ( check it out). Room was clean and good size. No need to complain for what you pay for this hotel. Not a 5 star but at least a 3-4 star.Didn't spend anytime in their pool or hot tub but it looked ok.So if you want a nice getaway and good value check it out. The rates are higher on weekend though. Very expensive at the falls for food etc so the package is the way to go. Have fun. Will go back next year.

“Reasonable for location and cost”

The best things about this hotel are the price for the area and the location. Niagara is expensive, particularly as close as you are here to the falls. With two children quick scampers down (and climbs back!) to the falls before bed time was well enjoyed by all.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a really good time. The rooms were fine although the bathroom wasn't up to scratch. Our view wasn't good, the room got no sun all day and faced the car park but then we weren't prepared to pay the enormous costs for hotels that had views. The facilities were good; free car park, new laundry room (a must for road trips!) and reasonable pool with towells.

The reastaurant staff were, in general, very good and particularly with our two children. I say, in general, as one morning we had a terrible waitress but just saw her the once. The food was good and the children ate free which also kept the price down. There are also plenty of restaurants around for variety.

My one real gripe was the staff who were very supercillious and unhelpful. Although it did seem to build camerarderie among the guests who ended up helping each other.

Oh, and someone tell them that the Niagara Visitor Centre is in the block behind the hotel as they had simply no idea and couldn't care less either!

“Low value for the money.”

Holiday Inn Niagara Falls-By The Falls

Bad view from 6th floor balcony on the on the side of the building we were on, mostly of lower rooftops & ventilators. One lower rooftop was a junk storage area with old chairs and tables.
Mildew in room in the wall-cieling corners, bedroom and bathroom.
The bottom of the pool was dirty.
The screen door was off the track and the lock on one of the bathroom double doors was broken.
Very gross dirty spots on a bath oil bottle. - Disgusting.
The room wasn't bad but the 6th floor smelled like cigarette smoke. Unacceptable for a non smoking room.
There were no mugs or glass drinking glasses only paper and plastic.
The in room jacuzzi tub was nice.

Overall the experience was just ok, .... sub - par room, great location, bad views. Definitely low value for the money. I would not stay here again since there are lots of other hotels with the same great location.

Just got back from a one week trip to Canada. Stayed at the Holiday Inn by the falls for three nights.

It's amazing the different standards you get from the same hotel chain. After spending 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Midtown in Toronto, the HI by the falls was a little bit of a let down.

To be fair there was nothing drastically wrong with the hotel. The rooms were large and clean, however the air conditioning created a musty smell in the room. This either cleared fairly quickly or we got used to it and it didn't bother us after about half an hour.

Unlike previous reviews, we had no problem with parking at the hotel, and there seemed to be plenty of parking spaces.

The location of the hotel is brilliant. A short walk down the hill and you're at the falls themselves. The restaurant on-site is called CoCos - we only stopped by here for breakfast which was adequate.

Overall, this is a sound choice for those on a budget of around $100 - $150 per night, although I'd try the Ramada Plaza fallsview first (amazing views and not much more expensive, but only smoking rooms available when I was booking!)

“Not your typical Holiday Inn”

Very good location, however did not get a parking space until later on that night after checking in. Very small lobby and no business center however the staff was happy to assist in getting your boarding passes printed. Staff had a very hard time getting our noisy neighbors to take their party elsewhere. I would not return to this hotel.
