“Not your typical Holiday Inn”

Very good location, however did not get a parking space until later on that night after checking in. Very small lobby and no business center however the staff was happy to assist in getting your boarding passes printed. Staff had a very hard time getting our noisy neighbors to take their party elsewhere. I would not return to this hotel.

“Free parking - if you can find a space”

Holiday Inn Niagara Falls-By The Falls

This hotel is in a great location. Can easily walk to most attractions. Room was generally clean and maintained but a bit noisy as we faced the rear of the building. The pool was closed for a day, the sliding door in room was difficult to operate and the balcony railing was almost solid so it obstructed the view (of the parking lot). DO NOT believe that there is adequate free parking. We counted approximately 70-75 spaces on the hotel site. The rest are in a common lot shared with the Skylon tower, Imax theater, and the casino. We were afraid to return to the hotel after 2:00 p.m. because we would not be able to get a parking space - and this was on weekdays. It did provide entertainment watching hotel guests searching the full lot with their useless hotel parking permit for an empty space and then being forced to search the entire adjacent lot for a possible spot.

“Okay, but a little too expensive for the problems I encountered”

Holiday Inn Niagara Falls-By The Falls

This hotel is in a great location, very close to the Falls (short walk downhill). No trouble with the check in. We got a room on the 6th floor. The room itself was okay overall, but had three problems that were pretty hard to overlook. The toilet was slightly defective in that you had to jiggle the handle after a flush to get it to refill. The sliding doors leading out to a balcony overlooking Murray St. took every ounce of strength I had to open and close them. The A/C unit in the room kept the room slightly cool, but not enough to make it comfortable, especially at night.
Had a very hard time sleeping the first night, mostly due to the defective A/C and the overloud band playing till 2 AM at Wolfgang Puck's next door. Ordered room service for breakfast the next morning and while the food was decent, the fact that the guy delivering it to our room had to make three seperate trips for things like salt & pepper, half and half & butter took away from it some. Coco's does have some great food, but it would be my recommendation to forget the room service and get down to the resturant itself to ensure maximum service.
Overall, it was an okay experience to stay at this hotel. For the expensive price of the room however, I have to wonder if I would have had a better experience at the Hilton or Embassy Suites for the same amount of money.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for three nights, June 7-9, 2007. We originally booked 2 nights, but later decided to add a night. When we added the third night over the phone, we were told that we would have to change rooms for the third night, but upon arrival it was no problem to have one room for all three nights.

Our room was on the 5th flooor with 2 queen beds and enough drawer space for 2 adults and 2 children. The room was very clean, with a full bathroom and an additional sink outside of the bathroom. There were complementary shampoos and a hair dryer provided. The maid service was very good, giving us extra towels every day .

The outdoor pool was fairly large and pleasant with a roped off shallow end. The indoor pool was smallish, but in poor weather kids enjoy any pool. There was an indoor hot tub that was really nice, not too hot. There was also a sauna, which we did not use.

Coco's restaurant had good food, but a little pricy. A 10" pizza was about $13. The breakfast buffet was good, with cereals, pancakes, potatos, eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, muffins. However it was exactly the same on both days we ate there, no additional variety. The buffet was $10.95. Kids can eat free, but only off of the small kids menu - they had to pay $2.95 for the buffet.

The location was excellent, nestled between the casino, the IMAX theater and the Skylon Tower. A 10 minute walk down hill puts you right next to Victoria Park, between the American and Canadian falls. We even walked to Clifton Hill and back.

We would definitely stay here again.
