We had read some poor reviews of this hotel when we were booking for three nights in Niagara as part of our trip to Canada. The price was very reasonable and there were good reviews too so we booked due to the good reviews and I have to tell you not to worry about booking this hotel. If you have kids, this is the perfect stay. The room was clean and maid serviced each day. The roar of the falls was lovely when opening our window (we asked the hotel if possible either for a room on the fall side or by the pool and they gave us the best of both, on the corner of the falls trees side at the door leading out to the pool. Please note if you request this ask for the lower floor as it had open air patios and people in those rooms could sit outside! Lovely! Our room was great though and we were so so happy we picked a family hotel as the pools were fab for kids, and had great dragon slides and a dragon tail waterfall and a swingpark very close. There were 2 lifeguards and they were safety concious. The hotel staff were friendly and tried to help in any way possible. Parking was free and great, easy to use. We were less than a minute to the front where the falls is, was half a minute from the skywheel and just in a perfect location for day and night and touring the area. Do not hesitate to book this hotel. For the money, it is wonderful!

“Loved The Location”

I arrived at the lobby and my reservation could not be found. Luckily I got to sift through the email printouts only to see that the confirmation and name the room was put under were not my own but my wife's!! Not the hotel's fault but strange that Hotels.com did so when I used my name and Credit card to book.
The room was excellent. Great location with a view of the pool and playground. When we exit the room we are overlooking the Skywheel so we could not ask for anything better!!

They even let us check in at 10am instead of 3pm. The room is spacious and clean. The bathroom could use updating but I was here to sightsee not to read a newspaper on the john. I can do that at home!

The Quality Inn Niagara was fine, the room was adequately sized for our party (2 adults, 2 small kids), the bathroom was OK, we had a small fridge and a view of the ferris wheel outside. It's right on the cheesiest strip in Niagara which is a place we didn't really enjoy so that coloured our experience of the hotel. Everything about the hotel was fine except the corridor smelled damp & unpleasant - we ended up using a different entrance to avoid it.

Overall a good budget hotel close to the Niagara 'action' (lots of cheesy waxworks, horror houses and chain food places. Oh, and some large waterfall).

“Great Location, average hotel”

Quality Inn Clifton Hill

I will agree with the other posters that the proximity to Clifton Hill is fabulous. The hotel is set back behind the skywheel so you are close enough to be a 2 minute walk away from everything, yet you don't have any noise issues. Hotel is decent. Both the indoor and outdoor pool areas were very clean and lifeguards on duty was a big plus. In the pool area there is also a park area for the kids to play.
We were in the 600 series. As an added bonus, we actually had a fallsview room. We stayed in room 619 and although there were several trees between our hotel room and the falls, the way the branches were situated, we had a full unobstructed view which was a pleasant surprise. Hotel rooms are pretty dated with older furniture, carpets and draperies. Maid staff did a good job of tidying up the room but we found the carpets to be quite dirty. After the first night, we made sure we always had shoes on. Our room seemed a little on the dark side - probably because there was no window by the door and our back window faced a forest so not a lot of natural light was available.
Each night around 9pm, the racoons are out in full force. They seem pretty used to people so they will come right up to you looking for food. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching them make their rounds.
We stayed for 2 nights and took a package which included food vouchers, skywheel passes and midway tokens. Overall, a pretty good value for the money we paid but if I was to go back I would either try to stay at the sister property (Comfort Inn) or ask for a room in a different block.
