Check-in time at this hotel was supposed to be at 3, and like a good people we are we came right on time. Unlike the hotel our room was still not ready and they told us to come back in an hour. We were hungry it was hot and the traffic was jammed due to a power outage couple blocks over. By the time we came back in we saw a flyer for pizza, decided to order it up to the room, we asked if they had a courtesy phone to our surprise they didn't so we asked to get change for an american dollar, and what do they give us...a dollar canadian coin to use in their pay phone. We dialed the pizza shop (247 Pizza) and well what do ya know their down the steet, so we hung up and didn't get the change back from the phone. Took about 3 min. to walk there. We came back with the pizza and with my boyfriends complaint they vouchered our 9 dollar parking there for the nite. WOW! Mind you they didn't even mention on the phone they were taking a 50 dollar deposit when you check in. The room was spacious and it was very quiet but the front desk people are not courteous and neither up to par with tourists. I've been to Canada at least 10 times and off all the place I've stayed I won't be back to this one on another future visit, and I hope you all will do the same.

“Decent hotel if you don't need much”

Got this hotel through Priceline for $90/night. Got a room with 2 double beds. Decent in that it was relatively clean and comfortable. Spacious room but seemed they could have done more with the wasted space. Like put a table with the coffee maker in the room rather than the counter of the bathroom sink? Could have added a microwave or fridge too. It was fine for a short stay. Close enough that we could walk to the falls and surrounding attractions and restaurants. Probably a 15 - 20 min. walk to the falls?

“Never staying here again!”

We went here for Memorial Day weekend, and stayed Sunday night. When we checked in, we THOUGHT this hotel was going to be something else but it was disgusting. When we got to our room, one of the blankets had some disgusting white, crusty stains on it. As we were leaving, we asked the maid to take care of it, and she did, but she jarred our door open and it was left open the entire time we were out looking at the sites, which was about 7 hours. ANYBODY could've came into our room and stole everything we brought because the maid had left it open. We called the desk and told them but they seemed uninterested. Our "suite" wasn't impressive, either. There was no fridge, no microwave, and no internet. The next morning as we were packing to check out, our cards stopped working an hour before check out time. They had no explanation for that, either. The hallways smelled of something very strong, and it was disgusting. We will NEVER stay here again and it definitely was not worth our time.

“Average At Best”

Clarion President Hotel & Suites By the Falls

26 May 2008

Such a majestic name for such an average hotel. In an odd neighborhood with shacks but across the street sits the much-better-appointed Doubletree. Front desk staff was funky acting, there was no clock in the room (is that a Canada hotel thing?) and it photographs alot bigger than it actually is. Slow drain in the shower. Hotel stationary &envelopes but no pen.

Pluses: The gift shop lady was very sweet and gave me a free pair of gloves with my purchase to keep warm at the Falls. The room was clean but dry looking. I could see fireworks clearly from my room at 10:00pm the night before my departure. Very close to Imax/Skylon and Casino area. 241 Restaurant & Dairy Queen is good cheap eating...avoid the chains (Applebees, TGIF etc.). Clifton Hills is a good walk from there if you're in a walking mood.

I came in from Buffalo Airport via Canada Airbus. They are very reliable in terms of pickup and confirmations.

“great budget hotel”

Clarion President Hotel & Suites By the Falls

12 May 2008

Excellent budget hotel. This hotel is much better then others in the similar category! Manager who is originally from Japan is excellent!. Really looks after you. I stay here on business about fifteen nights a year. Decent rooms and above average bedding for this category. Even the pillows are better. Front desk staff has been very helpful. Restaurant on site is quite good. I usually order room service at least twice while staying here. No complaints at all.
