“Ok...but very overpriced”

Sheraton Fallsview Hotel and Conference Center

Me and my fiancee stayed at the Sheraton Fallsview for 2 nights on the 29th of Feb of this year.
We arrivied at the hotel quite late because of a snowstorm.
When we booked our room with Holiday House (www.hoildayhouse.ca) we had tried to upgrade to a fallsview suite with jacuzzi and the hotel turned down the request saying they had none of these left. When I arrived at the hotel to check in, they asked us would we like an upgrade, I was very frustrated as we had wanted to do this in advance but they turned us down.
When we checked in the man at the front desk asked us for a deposit of 50 per night. He tried to process my visa card for 1000.00 and when he said the card declined i called my visa company asking why the 100.00 would not go through. The visa person on the phone told me that he had tried to process 1000.00 not 100.00. When I confronted the man at the desk he just said "OOPS" no appology or nothing....So what if it had gone through? would it just be "OOps" My suggestion is to leave a cash or debit deposit instead.
Parking is rediculous $20 plus tax PER NIGHT!!! for what a piece of pavement??? valet is $25 plus tax. Another couple who were staying there told us they waited 15 mins for the valet to get their car!!!!! why pay that money?
The room on the other hand was great. The beds are very comfortable. The room was very clean so no complaints there.

The resturant was way too overpriced so we ate out. We did not even bother to eat there. The 2nd evening of our trip we went down to see what it would cost and it would of been at least $150. There are better resturants in the area, and to be honest they are nicer.
We did not try out the pool or hottub so I cannot comment on that. It didn't not seem to be busy though.
So overall we had a nice time...outside the hotel and in our room. But other than that the service is not so great and the prices way too high!. Hope this helps whoever would like to stay here.

“Very Nice - Sheraton Fallsview”

Sheraton Fallsview Hotel and Conference Center

My husband and I decided to visit Niagara Falls and found a pretty good deal on TravelZoo. This included the night accommodation, a breakfast voucher for the buffet, a $50 voucher for dinner and free shuttle service to the Casinos. The hotel itself is very nice and I believe is about 19 years old. We took a room on the falls side which cost us an extra $30 per night (TravelZoo price was $109 plus the view = $139.00). What a view waking up in the morning! The room itself was very comfortable, the beds were fantastic, but next time, we'll choose the one king bed. We found the bathroom very small and that was a bit of a problem for my husband who is handicapped - getting in and out of the shower was fun. It was great having a small fridge in the room not stocked with their products at ridiculous prices. We went out and stocked up. The only real complaint I've got was the $20 for parking - we are guest of the hotel, there should no charge or at best a very minimal charge. All in all, it was a very nice stay and I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Shertaon Fallsview for a weekend in February 2008. I found a terrific rate on a Fallsview room after reading another persons review here on Tripadvisor. We found a Fallsview room on the website TravelZoo.com, for $109.00CN a night! Unbelieveable!
The rate also included a package with a dinner voucher, free hotel shuttle service, and buffet breakfast. We booked two, one night packages for the weekend.
The "Cut Above Steakhouse" is way overpriced, even with our voucher we spent about $80 for dinner the first night. (the second night we went to the Outback Steakhouse a short walk away). However the Voucher for breakfast was terrific. We fed our family of 4 for the cost of our tip! The first mornings breakfast, a Saturday was exceptional, however Sunday morning the service was atrocious, after being seated our server didn't show up until we were done.
Parking cost us $20CN + tax a day, which is ridiculous, and the in room internet was about $14+tax for a 24hr period. Overall our stay was nice, the indoor pool was warm, and the hotel staff were friendly. We definitely would stay there again, if we could get a similiar rate, however if not I'd rather stay at the Embassy Suites down the road.

“Only "Equal" to other 4 stars”

Took the family to Niagara for a little family get a way and decided to book one night at the Sheraton for $109 (a 100% smokefree hotel), after spending 2 nights at the Fallsview Plaza (an absolutely wonderful hotel!) I had thought we would be stepping it up a bit going to a Sheraton, although I have to say it was only "equal" to the new Fallsview Plaza Hotel. The beds were as fantastic as the Plaza, ever so comfortable. The big duvets and feather down pillows are simply to die for! The best sleep! We were upgraded to the 19th floor (city view) when I presented my hotel preferred guest card. From the elevator window we had a wonderful view of the falls, which was so nice to look at while waiting for the elevator (which is really busy at check in and out times) There is a member club on the 22nd floor for which we never did get to go see, but we went to dinner at 5:00 at The Cut Above and enjoyed a very expensive but delicious steak dinner. (our hotel deal included a $50 voucher but we still spent another $60 after that) The hotel seemed to have over extended itself this weekend (likely with the travel zoo package) as many people were complaining about not getting seated or having to be fed in room or bar area as the Cut above was very very busy and the hotel was totally full.
We really enjoyed a band that played in the hotel bar on main level called the Mat Hatters. They were really fun to watch. The breakfast (also included in the travel zoo deal) was a massive buffet of various items to please everyone..this was a good deal with or without the voucher and I would go again. (Although service for coffee was poor)
Parking cost $20 to self park on site (I do not like paying that much for parking) and internet ended up costing us an additional $15..which was a disappointment. The hotel should offer free internet and a free paper like the Fallsview Plaza does.
Overall we were pleased with the pool area but the excercize room was not very good at all. The hot tub did not whirl but was hot...the sauna was in the pool area and available for co ed use which is nice. The showers were great and offered great shampoo and conditioner in the shower area. The Fallsview Plaza pool scene was better however.
