Last week in August, 2007. Stayed at Super 8...read mixed reviews before hand. Actually a nice hotel; people seemed helpful but weren't really knowledgeable about the transportation facilities. Gave erroneous information. Awakened by fire alarm one morning with no explanation of what to do. Stood in parking lot for quite a while; when we got back to the room in our night clothes the cleaning staff wanted to know if we wanted the room done that day. What was that about. Continental breakfast was coffee and one day juice. Pancake house next door was overly expensive and not that great food wise. No comments from hotel staff about the inconvenience in fire alarm and evacuation, no free breakfast or lunch at the Pancase House next door, and no deduction in bill for inconvenience.
Good place to eat and reasonable priced is the Four Brothers...very personable, very rasonable, and very good food.
A lot of walking, lots to see, including for children. But everything from food to transportation to souveniers in so expensive.
Next time would stay on the American side.
Grey Line tours were good...first driver was excellent; second driver was ok but not as good as first driver. But got to see things probably wouldn't have otherwise, so would recommend the tours.
Falls are breath taking; best part of the trip.
