We had an okay stay. I think I got a good deal through Orbitz or something. And I thought "OOOh the Doubletree!". I wanted to stay somewhere nice and spend the extra money since it was my first time away with my boyfriend. Check in was easy, thank you very much for the cookies. The room was decent, looked just like the pictures on the website. The TV didnt have many channels at all and had absolutely nothing worth watching on the whole time we were there. The remote didnt work but they brought a new one right up as soon as we called the Front Desk. We didnt have a "falls view" but we could kind of see a little bit of mist. It was a bit of a walk down to the falls but we didnt mind because the weather was nice. I didnt like, however, when i got in bed the first night and the top sheet was pushed down to the bottom of the bed under the covers, like instead of changing the sheets housekeeping just kind of threw the blanket and bedspread up and remade the bed. That totally skeeved me out and we switched beds after that, but for that reason alone I wouldnt stay there again. A continental breakfast would have been nice for the price we paid.

We just came back from a 5-day visit to the Niagara region with our two children and were pleased with our choice of the Doubletree.

Our room was a typical hotel room -- nothing special -- but it was attractively furnished, new, and clean. The lobby is appealing and spacious (they've got some kind of lodge theme going), and the indoor pool was clean, warm, with plenty of seating. Adults traveling without children will appreciate that the pool is two-tiered and the top tier is appropriately reserved for adults only. There is a hot tub, but it's on the kids' side of the pool, and the kids do make themselves at home there -- which was annoying even though I was traveling with children myself.

The very best part of staying at the Doubletree was the location. Don't get me wrong -- the surrounding area is kind of a dump with abandoned parking lots and empty lots all around -- but the Doubletree was situated perfectly within walking distance of both the kitschy Clifton Hills area (with access to the falls) and the casino (we were not there to gamble, but the casino is housed in mall with a food court and restaurants, which we did take advantage of). For those who have not traveled to this area (as we had not), this is significant because you can not easily drive anywhere around Niagara Falls for lack of parking. We left our car in the hotel lot for nearly the entire stay and walked everywhere instead.

The downsides of the Doubletree were few, but worth mentioning. The front-desk staff, while not rude outright, were not as helpful as those in customer-service roles should be. One seemed really put out by our request for directions to Toronto, and another gave us the wrong information on two separate occasions (telling us the PeopleMover bus system was still closed for the season -- it had been long open, apparently -- and telling us there was no parking at the Whitewater Walk. I'm glad we did not take her advice and hire a taxi. Turns out free parking was immediately across the street.) The other downsides include the parking charge of $10 per day, which I found outrageous since the only way to get to the hotel is by car, and the lack of a free breakfast, which I've come to expect at chain hotels these days. While the parking charge, unfortunately, was par for the course for the area, the lack of breakfast was particularly irksome because area restaurants are so expensive. We mistakenly sat down for breakfast at Denny's on our first morning and I nearly fell over when I saw that an omelet cost $18. There is a restaurant on the premises, but we never tried it -- too expensive with kids.

Had two rooms for two nights over the easter weekend. While checking in the lady overhead that it one of our birthdays and sent up a birthday card with postcard and some easter eggs. Much Appreciated! The lobby is extremely spacious with starbucks and a store for buying extra water and snacks etc. This is a hotel which gets the smoking floor correct. Not a wiff of smoke in the hallway and the door in the room opened to a balcony. Housekeeping does a wonderful job. The room was clean and spacious with ample coffee/tea and bathroom products. TV channels could be improved as could the TV"s be updated. Asked and received a later check out. Thanks again. Had breakfast in the restaurant and would recommend locals to go there for breakfast. It was delicious, just don't order the sausage as it was not good. The breakfast cost half of what it would cost you at Denny's. I concur with previous posts regarding the location but have seen the Falls from hotels closer so the view was not important nor walking to the local attractions as we were there visiting family

My husband and I stayed at the Doubletree for one night. The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly, breakfast was plentiful and who couldn't be happy about having a Starbucks in the lobby. We would definately stay at this hotel again.

After driving non-stop from Texas on business my buddy and I were delighted to have a top notch hotel to stay at. The desk was very friendly, laid back, and acted like they wanted to be there. I will say the cookies were a little disappointing but that's okay. The room was spacious and the beds were awesome as usual with a Doubletree. Nice bedding and lots of pillows. The bathroom was average but very clean. The shower was slippery and I didn't see any sort of a rubber mat to keep from sliding all over. The TV was a bit small and not to many channels but didn't really care.
After staying out late I asked the staff at the front desk if I could check out a bit late and they said no problem.
The facility itself is very rustic looking. Kind of dark and wooden looking inside. I really liked it. The hotel does sit back a bit from the falls so the view wasn't the greatest but it is an easy walk to the falls or Clifton Street.
I would stay here again for sure mostly due to the staff making us feel welcome and valued.
